He TātārikiCelebrating Hapū LeadershipMaramatakaHōngongoi (July) 2016 - Pipiri (June) 2017
He TātārikiTātāriki is the leader of a flock of kākā - a
metaphor for our Hapū leaders. In this maramataka (calendar) we celebrate them.
This maramataka also highlights the mātāpono (values) that are important to our Hapū, the
values that will guide our leaders.
Our Hapū has many more leaders than are featured here. We acknowledge them also and apologise that we couldn’t include photos of
each of them.
We can all be leaders in our own way, and all contribute to achieving our Hapū vision of
Puāwaitanga o te Puawānanga – Living our Dreams.
Puāwaitanga o te Puawānanga - Leadership is a key pillar for achieving our dreams

We believe a good leader understands, appreciates and applies spiritual beliefs. Being spiritually strong brings

for our Hapū. They are pictured here with the Rātana band, Te Reo o Hāmuera.
