He led captivity captive

Ephesians 4:8-10

1. Before Christ, nobody was able to go heaven after death, And no man hath ascended

up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in

heaven. (John 3:13 KJV).GOD IS GOOD, BUT WE ARE WICKED(Gen 8:21),

TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM GOD HAS TO REGENERATE OUR NATURE

TO TAKE US TO HEAVEN.

After death, all the saints of the Old Testament confessed These all died in

faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and

were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were

strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare

plainly that they seek a country But now they desire a better country, that is,

an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath

prepared for them a city. (He 11:13-14,16

But Notice what Jesus said And no man hath ascended up to heaven...

2. Bible says that after death all the patriarchs used to gather to their fathers, and was

gathered unto his people. (Gen 49:33).

3. When Jesus was about to die, he promised to the repented malefactor Verily I say unto

thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43), It means He was going

to be reunited with his parents.

Three days after, in his resurrection Jesus said to Mary Touch me not; for I

am not yet ascended to my Father (John 20:17) It means He did not meet

the repented malefactor in heaven.

Jesus promised to this fellow to be with him in paradise but he did not go to

heaven, but where the patriarchs were For as Jonas was three days and three

nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three

nights in the heart of the earth. (Matt. 12:40)

Apostle Paul said the same about Jesus work, (Now that he ascended, what isit but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? (Eph. 4:9),

"He ascended," what does it mean but that he had also descended into

the lower regions, the earth? (ESV)

quod autem ascendit quid est nisi quia et descendit primum in

inferiores partes terrae (Vulgate)

4. Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Meant that Jesus went to the heart of the

earth to meet the patriarchs.

This place was called by Jesus as the Bosom of Abraham And it came to pass,

that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom

(Luke 16:22)

When Jesus was dying all demons gathered together to pick Jesus Soul.

When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands

against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. (Luke23:53)

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world

cometh, and hath nothing in me. (John 14:30)

They didnt know that Jesus was going to cast them away, Now is the

judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

(John 12:31)

Jesus nailed the sentence against us on the Cross and defeated all

demons, Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,

which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his

cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew ofthem openly, triumphing over them in it. (Col. 2:13-14)

5. Jesus went to the heart of the earth and destroyed the gates of hell to look for someone

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and

have the keys of hell and of death. (Rev 1:18)

Apostle Peter said that He went to Preach to souls in jail, or Christ also hath

once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God,

being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he

went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were

disobedient(HARDNESS OF HEART TO GODS WORD Jer.7:24,

Mar.16:14, Ro.2:5, Eph.4:18), when once the longsuffering of God waited inthe days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight

souls were saved by water. (1Pet 3:18-20)

Jesus preached to them not for salvation but to confirm the message of

Noah, since there was no Law yet, and they mocked his message.

6. After resurrecting Jesus Ascended to heavens carrying the Paradise to Heaven.

"When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, (ESV)

Now this Paradise is in the THIRD HEAVEN, I knew a man in Christ above

fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the

body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell:God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard

unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (2Cor 12:2-4)

This Paradise is in heaven and has the ORIGINAL TREE OF LIFE, To him

that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the

paradise of God. (Rev 2:7)

This tree is In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was

there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit

every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

(Rev 22:2)
