OPTIMIZING YOUR INVESTMENT IN SOLAR ENERGY

Third-Party Financing OptionsA critical component to a solar project is determining how to maximize a customer’s financial benefit. Every customer has tax considerations and energy needs that influence the optimal ownership arrangement for their solar system. Tecta Solar

works with each customer and its tax advisors to structure a comprehensive solar offering tailored to each customer’s specific circumstances that seek to capture the financial benefits of state and federal incentive programs.

Tecta Solar uses several financing structures that take advantage of available tax incentives and fit with an entity’s credit and tax status, including: Cash Sale, Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), or a Tax Lease. While Tecta does not provide tax or financial advice, we can highlight how tax treatments might be considered and assessed by a customer’s tax and financing professionals.

IncentivesMany states or utilities have financial incentives available to promote the installation of solar photovoltaic projects. Tecta Solar identifies the applicable incentive programs and prepares the required applications on behalf of each customer. Tecta Solar has successfully obtained millions of dollars of competitive grant money for its customers and placed over one hundred thousand SRECs in forward contracts.

Contracts for Solar Power

Cash Sale: The energy offtaker also owns the solar photovoltaic system and takes tax benefits. The contract is to purchase a turn-key system from Tecta.

Power Purchase Agreement: A financial agreement in which the energy offtaker will sign an agreement with a third-party solar facility owner to purchase the solar power produced from the facility. Typically the facility is located on the offtaker’s property and a site lease or license is executed along with the PPA. Appropriate for large systems (over 350 kWp) with strong credit offtakers.

Tax Lease: The energy consumer leases the solar equipment from a Lessor. The Lessor takes the Federal ITC and depreciation benefits and the Lessee typically takes local and state incentives. A buyout option in favor of the Lessee at the end of a 7 to 10 year term refers to Fair Market Value.

Development/Pre-ConstructionTecta Solar handles all documentation required for incentive programs, permitting and utility connections.

Permits. Our team will apply for and obtain all necessary building and electrical permits to install the solar PV system. Tecta works with our customers and authorities to ensure the system conforms with zoning and local regulations.

Environmental. Ground mounted projects can require additional studies and permits. Tecta Solar has experience with the environmental studies, surveys and permitting for solar on brownfield, greenfield, Tribal owned and landfill sites.

Interconnection/Net Metering Applications. Tecta’s engineering team has experience working with electric utilities across the country on distributed generation projects. We lead the interconnection and net metering application process on behalf of the solar project and our customers.

Procurement. Tecta works directly with leading photovoltaic equipment manufacturers to procure and build the most cost-efficient roof, ground and canopy mounted solar PV solutions. We are independent of equipment vendors, allowing our engineers to select the most robust and appropriate equipment for each project.

Installing High-Quality Solar Technology

Bankable Modules. We offer a wide variety of solar modules from the leading manufacturers of crystalline and thin-film modules, all with UL, CEC and industry certifications. Manufacturer financial strength is an important consideration.

High Efficiency Inverters. Tecta Solar uses inverters from the world’s leading inverter manufacturers to collect energy from the solar array (direct current electric power) and convert it into alternating current electric power.

Customizable Racking Solutions. Tecta Solar utilizes durable racking solutions that lead the industry in site-friendly roof and ground installations and offer enhanced system design flexibility.

User Friendly Monitoring Systems. We install revenue grade meters and provide access to online monitoring systems that report actual system generation.

INSTALLATION AND COMISSIONINGAs a national company with 40 offices coast-to-coast, Tecta is able to use its own installation crews to handle site preparation, construction management, racking and module installation. Customers can be assured that Tecta’s quality standards will be applied at every phase of the construction. Our team includes professional engineers, master electricians, NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installers and experienced project managers.

Roof Mounted SystemsWe strive to maintain the full integrity of the roof and uphold the existing roof warranties while installing a solar system. Working with Tecta on both roof and solar provides the customer a single point of responsibility, assuring a superior and lasting solar solution.

The roof underneath a solar PV system is just as important as the system itself. Since a solar installation has a useful life of over 20+ years, each roof should have a lifespan to match. As nationally recognized roofing experts, Tecta roofing professionals will ensure that the system is installed safely and efficiently without compromising the integrity or warranty of your roof.

Ground Mounted SystemsTecta Solar applies the same rigorous construction standards to ground mounted solar systems as it does roof mounted systems.
