and the things wherewith one may edify another” (Rom. 14:19)

Walnut Street Church of Christ Volume 50 August 9, 2020 Number 31

    FAMILY MATTERS...Steve Baggett

In 2 Timothy 2:2 the apostle Paul instructed Timothy, “And the

things that you have heard from me among many witnesses,

commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others

also.” Doing what Paul taught Timothy to do has been one of

our goals this summer with our interns. Daniel Guthrie and

Shane Schoenberger spent the months of June and July with

our church family listening, learning, and serving. Their time

    with us included opportunities for:

    • Personal Bible study

    • Development of a thirteen-week study over a New

    Testament book

    • Outlining all of Bryan’s sermons

    • Regular consultations with Walnut Street ministers

    • Personally interviewing ten ministers from the surrounding

    area

    • Observing meetings wherein ministers met with the

    shepherds

    • Preaching at our evening assemblies

    • Speaking at youth devotionals

    • Speaking in chapel Tuesdays through Fridays for Child Care

    • Hosting and leading youth activities

    • Participating in the leading of worship

    • Participating in weekly staff meetings

Had we not been under severe limitations because of Covid-19,

there would also have been several days of membership

visitation and teaching a number of Bible Classes. Their

internships have now concluded, and they have both returned

    to resume classes at Freed-

    Hardeman University. Special

    thanks to Daniel’s hosts: Bob

    and Sherrie Spencer, Ted and

    Sharon Williams, Mark and

    Robyn Kinzer, and Paul and

    Belinda Cummings. Thanks also

to all who reached out to en-

    courage them.
