RESPONDING TO THE CRISIS
Congenital heart disease is the No. 1 birth defect worldwide.
Each year, 1.3 million children are born with congenital heart
disease. Sadly, 93 percent of them are born in a country that
cannot provide them the necessary lifesaving care.
MISSION STATEMENT
VISION STATEMENT
To provide hope to children with heart disease from developing countries,regardless of their gender, creed, or national origin, by supportingautonomous Gift of Life programs in an effort to care for these childrenin need and to coordinate the development of sustainable pediatriccardiac surgery, catheterization and aftercare programs in select countries through the empowerment of local healthcare professionals.
We transform the lives of children with heart disease and their families by coordinating the collaboration of autonomous Gift of Life programs with like-minded partner charities, hospitals, healthcare professionals, Rotarians and other volunteers to develop sustainable pediatric cardiac surgery, catheterization and aftercare programs in emerging countries. We believe by establishing Regional Centers of Excellence in East Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and elsewhere we will Central America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and elsewhere we will save lives and allow communities to care for their own children with heart disease. We will integrate all elements of proper healthcare for these children, with special attention to nutrition and humanized care training of healthcare professionals and parents. We will conduct ourselves with respect for the role of local governments, medical teams and hospital administrators.

Dear Stakeholder:
For over four decades, the Global Network of Gift of Life has been a beacon of hope for children with heart disease and their parents. After completing an extensive survey of all 76 Gift of Life programs around the world, we are proud to report that more than 27,600 children from 78 countries have received care through our efforts. Thanks to the support and dedication of caring and generous organizations, companies, healthcare partners, Rotary Clubs and Districts, and organizations, companies, healthcare partners, Rotary Clubs and Districts, and individuals such as you, we bring hope to over 1,500 children with heart disease annually.
Our strategy remains focused on the development of sustainable pediatric cardiac centers of excellence and the empowerment of doctors and nurses to treat children in their country or region of birth. Gift of Life International (GOLI) and our like-minded partners are creating such centers in Uganda, El Salvador, Jamaica and Romania, helping to ensure that reliable care will El Salvador, Jamaica and Romania, helping to ensure that reliable care will be provided to children in Eastern Africa, Central America, the Caribbean and Eastern Europe.
During the past year, we have extended our reach to provide hope to children in the Middle East. Working in collaboration with our Rotary partners and like-minded organizations in Lebanon, Jordan and Israel, GOLI has helped to provide lifesaving cardiac care to Syrian, Iraqi, Lebanese and Jordanian childrenthrough our global network. By showing love and compassion to children of this through our global network. By showing love and compassion to children of this region, we provide care that would not otherwise be available while promoting world peace at a time when it is so desperately needed.

Gift of Life is a Rotarian-based nonprofit organization which consists of 76 autonomous Gift of Life programs in 78 countries across five continents.
Thanks to the participation of 205 Rotary Clubs and 46 Rotary Districts around the world, Rotary Global Grants have become a major funding source for Gift of Life International and its affiliated programs. Through this partnership with Rotary, we are able to maximize our impact in providing care to children in need.
