for HDMI Testing is equipped with an HDMI Tx port operating up to

600 MHz for testing Ultra HD TVs and sink devices. The HDMI Tx

video generator port provides functional testing of HDMI video, audio,

protocol, and auxiliary data. The module supports approved HDMI 2.0

compliance testing of Ultra HD HDMI sink devices as well as UHD

Alliance compliance tests.

Video Generation The 980 18G Video Generator module supports video and audio functional testing at TMDS character rates up to 600 MHz for testing Ultra HDTVs with 4K x 2K resolutions at 50/60Hz.

The 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module supports HDMI 2.0 and UHD Alliance approved compliance tests for next generation UHD TVs and other sinks.

Operation The 980 18G Video Generator module can be controlled through the 980 Manager GUI graphical user interface. You can use either the embedded 980 GUI Manager via the touch screen monitor or you can use the external 980 GUI Manager from a PC.

The 980 18G Video Generator module can be equipped in the either the 980B or 980R Advanced Test Platform.

Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log Gamma Test Patterns The Dolby Vision test image verifies a Dolby Vision display’s Dolby Vision-specific EDID data, its response to the Dolby Vision protocol handshake and its handling of the Dolby Vision signal and metadata. The Dolby Vision test image will be rendered with a checkmark in the proper location if the display has properly interpreted the color space, metadata and checksum correctly.

The Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) test image provides an assurance that the HLG metadata is not impeding the ability of the display to render the image.

HDR Lab The “HDR Lab” test option was developed jointly with industry experts Joe Kane and Florian Friedrich. HDR Lab is a suite of test patterns and reference images (examples at right) that address the following:
