Features
The1/2.8typeExmorCMOScamera(utilisingapproximately2millionvalidpixels)allowsforhigh-definitionshootingwithsuperiorpicturequality.
Thecameraisequippedwithabright,F1.6zoomlenswith20×opticalzoom.
Byadoptingitswideanddynamicrangefunctions,youcanseetheoptimisedshootingimagewhichincorporatesbrightanddarksubjectsatthesametime.
ThecamerahasavarietyofHDvideoformatchoicesanddigitalandanalogueinterfaceconnectors.TheEVI-H100ScamerahasHD-SDI(HighDefinition-SerialDigitalInterface)output,suitableforlong-distancetransmission.TheEVI-H100VcamerahasaDVI-I(VIDEOOUT)connectorsupportingbothdigitalandanalogueoutput.
ThecameracanbeusedforNTSCandPALoutputinletterboxsize(EVI-H100S).
AdoptstheindustrystandardRS-232CinterfaceofVISCAcameraprotocolinexternalcommunication.ItispossibletooperatefromlongdistancesbyusingbothRS-232CandRS-422.
Youcaninstallthecameraonceilingsduetothefunctionsofhigh-speedandwiderangepan/tiltactionandverticalimageflip.
Youcanusetheinfraredremotecommandertosetthecameraandalsotoselectpanning,tiltingandzoomingfromthesettingmenu.
Youcanstoreupto6kindsofcameradirectionandcamerastatusintothecamera.

IMAGE FLIP switchFlipstheimageupsidedown.NormallysetthistoOFFwhenyouusethecamera.Whenthecameraisattachedtotheceiling,setthistoON.BeforeyousettheIMAGEFLIPswitch,turnofftheunit(orsettostandbymode)andthen,turnthepoweronbyconnectingthepoweradaptor,byVISCAcontrolortheremotecommander.Whenyouswitchthis,thepresetsettingisreturnedtotheinitialsetting.

BesuretouseaPhillips-headscrewdriverwhenchangingtheswitchposition.Ifyouuseatoolotherthanthedesignatedscrewdriver,thecrossedgroovemaybedamaged.

PAN-TILT buttonsPressthearrowbuttonstoperformpanningandtilting.PresstheHOMEbuttontofacethecamerabacktothefront.Whenthemenuisdisplayed,useortoselectthemenuitemsandortochangethesetvalues.Theselectedsettingmenuisdisplayed,bypressingtheHOMEbuttonwhenthemainmenuisdisplayed.ThePan/tiltspeedwillslowdownwhenthecameraiszoomed,inordertoallowprecisepositioning.
L/R DIRECTION SET buttonHolddownthisbuttonandpresstheREVbuttontochangethedirectionofthecameramovementoppositetothatindicatedbythearrowofthe/buttons.Toresetthedirectionofthecameramovement,presstheSTDbuttonwhileholdingdownthisbutton.
POWER switchPressthisbuttontoturnon/offthecamerawhenthecameraisconnectedtoanACoutlet.
BACK LIGHT buttonPressthisbuttontoenablethebacklightcompensation.Pressitagaintodisablethebacklightcompensation.
POSITION buttonsHolddownthePRESETbuttonandpressbutton1to6tostorethecurrentcameradirection,zooming,focusadjustmentandbacklightcompensationinthememoryofthepressednumberbutton.Toerasethememorycontents,holddowntheRESETbuttonandpressbutton1to6.

Zoom
Thecameraemploysa20×opticalzoomlenscombinedwithadigitalzoomfunction;thiscameraallowsyoutozoomupto240×.
Optical 20×, f = 4.7 mm to 94.0 mm (F 1.6 to F 3.5)Thehorizontalangleofview(1080imode)isapproximately55.4degrees(wideend)to2.9degrees(teleend).DigitalZoomenlargesthecenterofthesubjectbyexpandingeachimageinboththeverticalandhorizontaldirections.When240×zoomisused,thenumberofeffectivepictureelementsineachdirectionreducesto1/12andtheoverallresolutiondeteriorates.
YoucanactivatethezoominthefollowingwayswithaVISCAcommand.
Using Standard ModeUsing Variable ModeThereareeightlevelsofzoomspeed.Direct ModeSettingthezoompositionenablesquickmovementtothedesignatedposition.Digital Zoom ON/OFFIn these standard and variable Speed Modes, it is necessary to send Stop Command to stop the zoom operation.
Focus
Focushasthefollowingmodes,allofwhichcanbesetusingVISCACommands.
Auto Focus Mode Theminimumfocusdistanceis10mmattheoptical
wideendand800mmattheopticalteleend,andisindependentofthedigitalzoom.
TheAutoFocus(AF)functionautomaticallyadjuststhefocuspositiontomaximisethehighfrequencycontentofthepictureinacentermeasurementarea,takingintoconsiderationthehighluminanceandstrongcontrastcomponents.
- Normal AF ModeThisisthenormalmodeforAFoperations.- Interval AF ModeThemodeusedforAFmovementscarriedoutatparticularintervals.ThetimeintervalsforAFmovementsandforthetimingofthestopscanbesetinone-secondincrementsusingtheSetTimeCommand.Theinitialvalueforbothissettofiveseconds.- Zoom Trigger ModeWhenthezoomischanged,thepre-setvalue(initiallysetat5seconds)becomesthatforAFMode.Then,itstops.
AFsensitivitycanbesettoeitherNormalorLOW.- NormalReachesthehighestfocusspeedquickly.Usethiswhenshootingasubjectthatmovesfrequently.Usually,thisisthemostappropriatemode.- LOWImprovesthestabilityofthefocus.Whenthelightinglevelislow,theAFfunctiondoesnottakeeffect,eventhoughthebrightnessvaries,contributingtoastableimage.
Manual Focus Mode ManualFocushasbothaStandardSpeedModeand
aVariableSpeedMode.StandardSpeedModefocusesatafixedrateofspeed.VariableSpeedModehaseightspeedlevelsthatcanbesetusingaVISCACommand.

White Balance
WhiteBalancehasthefollowingmodes,allofwhichcanbesetusingVISCACommands.
Auto White Balance Thismodecomputesthewhitebalancevalueoutput
usingcolorinformationfromtheentirescreen.Itoutputsthepropervalueusingthecolortemperatureradiatingfromablacksubjectbasedonarangeofvaluesfrom3,000to7,500K.
Thismodeisthedefaultsetting.
Indoor 3,200KBaseMode
Outdoor 5,800KBaseMode
One Push WB TheOnePushWhiteBalancemodeisafixedwhite
balancemodethatmaybeautomaticallyreadjustedonlyattherequestoftheuser(OnePushTrigger),assumingthatawhitesubject,incorrectlightingconditionsandoccupyingmorethan1/2oftheimage,iscapturedbythecamera.
OnePushWhiteBalancedataislostwhenthepoweristurnedoff.Ifthepoweristurnedoff,resettheOnePushWhiteBalance.

High Resolution Mode
Thismodeenhancesedgesandproduceshigherdefinitionimages.
Aperture Control
Aperturecontrolisafunctionwhichadjuststheenhancementoftheedgesofobjectsinthepicture.Thereare16levelsofadjustment,startingfrom“noenhancement.”Whenshootingtext,thiscontrolmayhelpbymakingthetextsharper.

Back Light Compensation
Whenthebackgroundofthesubjectistoobright,orwhenthesubjectistoodarkduetoshootingintheAEmode,backlightcompensationwillmakethesubjectappearclearer.
Wide Dynamic Range Mode (WD)
TheWideDynamicRangemodeisafunctionfordividinganimageintoseveralblocksandcorrectingblocked-upshadowsandblown-outhighlightsinaccordancewiththeintensitydifference.Itenablesyoutoobtainimagesinwhichportionsrangingfromdarktolightcanberecognized,evenwhencapturingasubjectwithalargeintensitydifferencethatisbacklitorincludesextremelylightportions.Imageswithwidedynamicrangeareproducedbycombininglong-exposuresignals(normalshutter)withthesignalsofthehigh-intensityportionsobtainedwithashortexposure(high-speedshutter).
Wide Dynamic Range Auto On/Off ModeThewidedynamicrangecanbesettobeautomaticallyswitchedON/OFFinaccordancewiththeintensitydifferenceobtainedbydividinganimageintoseveralblocksandthenaveragingtheintensityofeachblock.
Wide Dynamic Range Auto On/Off Mode
When the intensity difference between the dark portions and light portions of a subject becomes large because of back lighting or the like, the wide dynamic range mode is switched ON.
Auto On/Off
When the subject changes and the intensity difference between the dark portions and light portions becomes small, the wide dynamic range mode is switched OFF.
Thewidedynamicrangemodeincludesthefollowingoperationmodes.
WD Mode Thismodecorrectsblocked-upshadowsandblown-
outhighlightsinaccordancewiththeintensitydifference.
WD Auto ON/OFF Mode ThismodeswitchesWDON/OFFautomaticallyin
accordancewiththeintensitydifferenceofthesubject.
ConfigurethesensitivityforwhenWDisswitchedfromOFFtoONwiththedetectionsensitivityparameter.
Exposure Ratio Mode Thismodefixestheshutterspeedofalongexposure.
Configuretheshutterspeedofashortexposurebysettingtheratiowithregardstoalongexposurewiththeexposureratioparameter.
Blown-outhighlightcorrectionisnotperformedinthismode.
Histogram Mode Thismodeusesahistogramtocorrectblocked-up
shadowsandblown-outhighlights.

intensitywithintheimageforwhenswitchingAutoWDfromOFFtoON.

Overview of VISCA
InVISCA,thedeviceproducingthecommands,forexample,acomputer,iscalledthecontroller,whilethedevicereceivingthecommands,suchasanEVI-H100S/H100V,iscalledtheperipheraldevice.TheEVI-H100S/H100VservesasaperipheraldeviceinVISCA.InVISCA,uptosevenperipheraldevicesliketheEVI-H100S/H100VcanbeconnectedtoonecontrollerusingcommunicationconformingtotheRS-232Cstandard.TheparametersofRS-232Careasfollows. Communicationspeed:9,600bps/38,400bps Databits:8 Startbit:1 Stopbit:1 NonparityFlowcontrolusingXON/XOFFandRTS/CTS,etc.,isnotsupported.
Peripheraldevicesareconnectedinadaisychain.AsshowninFig.1,theactualinternalconnectionisaone-directionring,sothatmessagesreturntothecontrollerviatheperipheraldevices.Thedevicesonthenetworkareassignedaddresses.Theaddressofthecontrollerisfixedat0.Theaddressesoftheperipheraldevicesare1,2,3...inorder,startingfromtheonenearestthecontroller.Theaddressoftheperipheraldeviceissetbysendingaddresscommandsduringtheinitializationofthenetwork.
