make peacewith the beast.

2016 was the year of change for the Haircare Group. A branding evolution, a new state of the art headquarters, new brand acquisitions to the portfolio, as well as a national and global education overhaul and rejuvenation. We strove to evolve in all facets of our business and creative offerings, to innovate and remain at the absolute forefront of our incredible, ever-changing industry.

As we move into the new year we are thrilled to release the 2017 education book and calendar. The new curriculum focuses on education that opens pathways to elevated growth, with increased inspiration and motivational sessions that allow salon owners and stylists to create their own education journey. We have responded to the needs of our clients by creating an expansive collection that offers the industry unparalleled access to top educators and mentors, regardless of what you subscribe to as an artist or business owner.

Innovation is the lifeblood of any industry and as a team we are constantly traversing the globe for partnerships and brands that keep us evolving while offering our clients nothing but the best. There are some new kids on the block... We have not only welcomed BaByliss and Denman into the Haircare New Zealand family over the last few months but also made room for new releases from some of our leading brands. Evo has created the Smooth range which includes three genre-changing products. For Moroccanoil we launch the Texture Collection with three new styling essentials for keeping 'summer hair' all year long, and lastly we have the Cloud Nine Airshot, the highly anticipated hairdryer that will perfectly complete your Cloud Nine arsenal.

But that is not where the fun ends - Hair Expo is set to inspire with major shows on offer. Guy Tang for Olaplex, The Schorem Barbers for Reuzel and after a great year last year with ‘The Renegades’ - Jules Tognini and myself are back with the Evo Creative Team. We are heading back to New York in September with the biggest Evo New York Study Tour yet with a massive week of NYFW shows, photo shoots, creative mentoring, education and business events that will lift your creativity to new levels and involve you in a global network of hairdressers.

We are proud to be major sponsors of the F.A.M.E team with Cloud Nine and Evo for 2017, and look forward to mentoring and seeing another outstanding group of the next generation rise and grow.

Wherever you are and whoever you are as an artist, there is something on offer at the Haircare Group to elevate and excite you, I look forward to sharing and collaborating and keeping our dynamic industry thriving in 2017.

The New Evo Day of Grace & Miss Malleable Evo’s Helmut Light and Day of Grace have re-invented themselves. They’re both the same, but different… Day of Grace now resides in the ‘style’ family and Helmut Light is now to be known Miss Malleable. The updated packaging is hitting your shelves now.

Evo’s New Vegan & Gluten Free FormulaWith improved performance, Evo’s newly formulated vegan and gluten free formulas are currently being launched to steadily take the place of the original formulations. This staggered approach means the first rounds of products have been hitting the shelves since September 2016 and will completely replace the original formula products by April 2017. It’s a formula for success!

is No SecretUnique, interactive and inspirational… Ssh! is an annual world-class event where teams from across the globe come together to educate and collaborate through a series of unique presentations. Sponsored by Evo in 2016, people were able to take a rare visual journey into the creative minds of leading hair artists from around the world. The experiential and highly collaborative scene at every Ssh! event taps into the emerging and often underground global hairdressing scene that we rarely get to see, let alone experience.

MODERNTIMESAn adventure through texture, movement and all-round majesty; the Peter Gray effect.

INEDITORIAL INEXCLUSIVE

58 INSTYLE

In 2012 I met Peter Gray in Paris. He’d just completed a massive campaign job for L’Oréal Professionnel, and with brands throwing contracts at him you

wonder why he hasn’t been stitched up as a Global Creative Director for any of our leading global powerhouses. It is what Peter hasn’t accepted that makes him so interesting and he has the editorial world lining up for more. The truth is, back when working on this 2012 released global campaign, L’Oréal Professionnel wasn’t convinced of his work and vision, being so different to anything they had ever done before, but in the end they loved it, his hair ‘dresses’ campaign became a global focus for the brand and rather than take on an exclusive role with the leading company, Peter has continued to manifest and weave his style across the globe – one that now lets him arrive at a non-exclusive contract with Moroccanoil.

“It takes huge balls on a companies behalf to say ‘we love what you do and we are not going to constrict you’. It allows me to bring the best of all the brands I’ve worked with over the years,” Peter said. he no doubt cites this relationship as a very precious one.

His ‘work’, despite him making it sound like it is far from it, transcends the countless VOGUE covers from advertising, editorial, session and custom projects as interesting as his personality. First and foremost Peter has no ego, he’s too tapped into external intelligence to make hairdressing just about him – his work and persona speak for itself. It’s hard not to crush on this severe state of open-mindedness for a hairdresser of his calibre.

Present at Hair Expo exclusively for Moroccanoil, Peter’s ‘session editorial’ bunch were a very diverse mix of stylists all looking for the session editorial zeitgeist from a man of many talents.

While at Hair Expo, Peter also formed part of the Global Morph show featuring Sharon Blain, Tracey Hughes and Lucie Doughty.

Following on from Morph Peter presented a six model collection for Moroccanoil where the less than a dozen guests were able to stay, interact and produce a live photoshoot.

“I want to get people involved and reach people again in a genuine way rather than in that mass market way,” he said.

“It’s important to make ourselves think again and create an environment where people can interact and share the accidents, the ‘happy’ accidents,” Peter said.

Having worked with so many brands from the Aveda tribe where the socio political aspect of the brand is just as important as the skill to brands that are all about shifting as many SKU’s as possible, right down to the small brands – it’s perhaps Peter’s perspective and the way he looks for the life in others that make him so valuable. Not only does his portfolio of work from Hermes to VOGUE China and back to his creative roots again speak for itself, the refreshing part is that Peter speaks for hairdressers and creatives – finding talents and interesting people that contribute to the greater good everywhere he goes.

“People ask me sometimes ‘where does the creativity come from’. Everyone is creative but it’s about how interested you are in what you’re doing that determines this.”

“I work in fashion, it’s ageist, sexist and sizest. I loved a recent job where I worked with a transsexual person – a size 12 Russian girl that was really about pushing the boundaries.” Gray has worked with

With a spectrum of interest and imagination far broader than the session stylist label – Peter Gray is recognized by not only his lightness of touch with hair but his depth of personality and perspective, writes Cameron Pine.

The Gray Scalean 87 year old model, a scientist and everything else you can imagine and what he really wants to push is the aspect of inclusivity in fashion and hair - he believes there should be no stereotype.

He has also been working on Noise shows which have become big in the UK, Richard Ashforth, Peter and the guys from X-presion all form a very ‘loose partnership’ and really it’s just about creativity.

Noise was once a year but now it’s “out of control” with Peter and the gang pulling huge venues and crowds on a regular basis.

Peter’s an advocate for making hairdressing more accessible and cooler, “one particular model was surprised I asked her to speak on stage but I wanted her to share who she is and that she’s not plus size to me, she’s normal,” Peter said.

Peter recently worked with a young designer, Demetra from Sydney while on his visit. He’s really obsessed with working with people who do something different in the locales he visits. Demetra is 23 years old and Peter says having worked with McQueen, she is giving this fashion queen literally a run for her money. “She’s putting images of Syrian refugees on her garments, everything she is doing is different.” Peter said.

For more than 17 years (of his 30 in the industry) his published work is all shot by a photographer called Sunsbo –Peter admits that he has had a relationship as a photographer’s hairdresser and not a stylist’s hairdresser. He’s like a vampire to the unordinary and the unusual that a lot of hairdressers would bypass to stay on track to their ‘type of work’ or a certain level of notoriety. But for this man it’s about developing his own sense of dexterity and own sense of fashion. “You know what hairdressing can be like, it can be a little cheesy, can’t it?” he said.

For Peter there’s literally no grey area, no dark side of his art, just an open mind primed for exploration and further satisfaction in the areas in which he lives. His advice to other hairdressers? To look at photographers and photography and the history of fashion. He says to try and steer clear of fashion mags. “I feel like it’s a toxic virus that if you start looking at what’s around now you think your

Founded by a hairdresser, for hairdressers, Haircare Australia is an internationally renowned brand that

continues to flourish at the forefront of our progressive, dynamic, and ever-changing industry. And with a brand new, purpose built facility that opened its doors in 2016, Haircare Australia continues to be a cut above the rest. Garth Gauvin shares the family’s vision of the next chapter for Haircare Australia. Garth, tell us about the Haircare journey. Mum and Dad (Jan and Geoff) started Haircare over 40 years ago. They saw an opportunity to offer a salon-only brand, so they were taking orders at night while working in their salon during the day. They’ve always had this pioneering spirit, to get out and build something. And, they’ve always put the salon industry first, which is the whole ethos of Haircare. As we (myself, Ward & Brad) joined the business, it progressed to being a direct importer and distributor for Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. We also started to manufacture our own brand, Evo – to fill a gap in the boutique market and make a difference in the industry. This added a whole new arm to Haircare – but that's a whole other story.

What a journey! So, what does this new building represent? It’s a state-of-the-art facility, representing our 40 years of hard work, risk and innovation. There have been so many people, both staff and clients, who have contributed to Haircare and supported our growth. This is our way of giving back to each and every one – facilities for our clients and staff, whilst building our culture. It’s also an opportunity to show how serious we are and how we’re really investing in what we’re doing. Not to mention, a great place to bring international guests and our core Australian customers. At one time, we can have four different courses running – colour workshops, lectures, hands-on workshops and presentations. It’s a multi-use space, close to both the city and the airport. We’ve managed to move a team of 100 staff, 3 offices, 6 warehouses and a cash and carry to a single location, in four weeks, without closing for a single day. 2,000 pallets were shifted during the move. That’s got to be some kind of record!

It’s not just the surroundings that have changed, the Haircare branding has also been updated, tell us a little about the new direction of the brand. The new logo and brand direction sets the scene for our future. We've taken a whole new direction with it – marking a new era in the Haircare brand. The logo is strong and simple, with classic aesthetics. It’s bold and tells the world our unique story. People really identify Haircare with great brands, so with the new visuals we’ve tried to show this. What’s in store for the future? What’s the Haircare vision? We haven’t just moved buildings. We’ve completely transformed every part of Haircare – from staff morale to our internal distribution system. At our previous location, we were running manual, paper-based systems in our warehouses. Moving to a new building enabled us to implement a Warehouse Management System (including a motorised conveyor and wireless barcode scanners) that allows us to receive goods and process orders much more efficiently - providing fewer mistakes, improved order lead times and better customer service. Creative spaces, collaborative and breakout spaces are everywhere within the new facility which is really encouraging fresh thinking. Moving forward, we’ll continue to innovate, and focus on bringing the latest and greatest products to our client, while always remaining a true family affair!

The 2000ml Back Bar dispenser of Olaplex No. 2 Bond Perfector enables you to perform Express Mini Treatments as a quick and easy upsell to improve the condition of your client’s hair. What was your favourite part of the tour? Oh it’s hard to pick just one, but if I had to, it would be the designers. I’ve had the biggest crush on New York for as long as I can remember. I experienced the designer’s process and prepared 35 models for the catwalk. I had just 2.5 hours to get them ready and it was amazing to see them in their incredible clothes. Standing next to the designers, admiring the finished product. Oh, and the clothes! I loved the whole process.

What part was most valuable? Working with 17 talented hairdressers from around the world. I was lucky enough to travel with two of my team members, which I’ve never experienced in my 33 years of hairdressing. I really enjoy teaching and mentoring, so it was great to be the student for once.

Stephen and Mandy have teamed up with HCA to take their game-changing education around New Zealand. Visit basineducation.com.au to find out more.

What knowledge did you bring back to the salon? I learned a lot more about Evo products, which I’ve loved using back in the salon. I got a glimpse into the world of editorial hair and photo shoots. I feel it has ignited my passion for our incredible industry, all over again. It’s made me unstoppable!

Now, tell us about becoming a Prestige Partner. What do you like about the program? Our favourite part of the program is the sense of belonging to a community of likeminded people. It’s wonderful to know that we have support there when we need to tap into it.

What would you recommend about it? Who doesn’t love a good story? Our clients sure do. We totally recommend that people share the Haircare story. It’s a great local success story – not just Australian, but South Australian. After all, it’s the main reason we changed, so we could support the people who are truly supporting our industry.

What additional support does Prestige give to your salon? We have access to off-site training and support, as well as the years of industry experience that the Gauvin family can offer. By doing more business with the one company, we’re looked after.

And tell us about your favourite aspects about the new colour?Lakmé, wow! We actually weren’t unhappy with our last colour, but we simply didn’t realise we were missing out. We’re loving the extra gloss Lakmé gives and the power of the pigment. It’s really punchy and allows us to achieve beautiful results.

Our ground-breaking education portfolio is a carefully curated collection of some of the best and brightest creatives in the

industry. Our 2017 offering covers every facet of our remarkable, dynamic industry – cutting, styling and colour; through to business and professional development; and the bespoke offerings of some of our exciting education partners. We have responded to the needs of our clients by creating an expansive collection that offers the industry unparalleled access to top educators and mentors regardless of what you subscribe to as an artist or business owner.

After hitting the industry in 2016; the Lakmé Academy is back for 2017, this time with a focus on this season’s most sought after techniques and trends - balayage, micro-foiling and root stretching. The 2017 calendar further encompasses the ever-changing trends of the fashion and hair industry with an emphasis on improving craft. With an incredible team of educators, led by National Education Manager Deborah French - your colour creativity and technical prowess will expand to new heights.

‘The Olaplex Business Brunch will be a major asset investment to all salon owners. It’s not to be missed, along with the Basin Haircutters Business seminar that focuses on making your salon profitable. There is a key focus on business building sessions to support salon owners in pathways to grow their revenue and inspire staff.’ – Deborah French - Haircare Group National Education Manager.

Evo has brought together its top creatives to build an entirely new global education system for 2017 that will leave you feeling like a superhero in and out of the salon. Current Hair Expo Educator of the Year, Jules Tognini will be crisscrossing the country to share his unique education methods and had this to say about the Evo year ahead; ‘Our team has been working on something damn fine. There will be a push toward textured hair with cutting and styling in various lengths and shapes. Stylists will be able to choose their own adventure. The education is a lot more condensed and intensive.’

As a pioneer in tools and top level education - Cloud Nine has redirected its offerings to move into private training. Get one of the Cloud Nine ambassadors into your salon to teach your entire team, and customise learnings to suit your salon and your style. Creative Director Lauren McCowan is back on the roster for Cloud Nine with an exclusive workshop and show. Modus Operandi is defined as a particular way or method of doing something. In this series, you will see the inner workings of Lauren and her style. Gain insight into her signature methods across cut, colour and editorial to draw inspiration and techniques to apply to your own skill set as well as ideas to drive your career to new heights.

Moroccanoil National Education Manager, Violet Sainsbury tells us, “it’s a project that’s been a couple of years in the making, but, we’re thrilled to share it with the Australia and New Zealand market”.

This year we have worked with some of our education partners to offer individualised and completely unique training concepts. On Thursday 13th October Michele McQuillan and Moroccanoil joined forces with Harper's BAZAAR as they hosted their second BAZAAR in Bloom fundraising

gala located at Justin Hemmes' private residence, The Hermitage, in Sydney's Vaucluse. Guests enjoyed a couture runway show, highlighting 31 of Australia's most celebrated designers, each of whom created a bespoke gown for the charity showcase.

Alongside Michele McQuillan, a talented team from the Haircare Australia salon network came together to create the perfect runway-ready hair. Stylists were given a valuable insight into the world of runway styling and the chance to work alongside Michele for the 8-page editorial shoot featured in Harpers Bazaar’s December issue.

Amongst Sydney socialites and philanthropists, renowned Australian model, Steffanie Roberts attended the showcase as a guest of Haircare Australia and Moroccanoil. The brunette beauty enjoyed an intimate styling session with Moroccanoil Education Manager, Violet Sainsbury who introduced her to the Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray.

Michele and the team transformed hair into effortless, romantic buns with the help of the Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream, Moroccanoil Luminous Shine Hairspray and the newly launched, Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray. With movement and texture, the hair floated down the runway, making the perfect canvas for each of the gowns on display.

"The timeless elegance of all the dresses needed a continuity within the hair. The look was inspired by Victorian women dressed for a summer garden party. By playing with the prudish shape we gave a fresh sense of wild bohemia. The repressed Victorian bun was fractured into a romantic coquettish knot." - Michele McQuillan

Awarded the best salon in

Wellington, the Powder Room

gives their clients the perfect

blend of modern luxuries and a good

old chinwag. It’s where old meets new.

The Powder Room’s two-story complex

is dedicated to sustainability: the

cutting happens downstairs, while the

second floor brings a relaxed vibe – for

colour, treatments and special occasion

hair. The salon rocks everything

recyclable – electricity, packaging,

cleaning products, gloves and even

their coffee. Their zero waste policy

won them the sustainable salon of the

year, two years running.

Lisa, what are your best practice retail strategies? Our clients love that we

know our stuff when it comes to talking

retail, which comes from a genuine

love of what we use and recommend.

We have a policy around not selling

but helping our clients discover a

product that they love – a product

they can’t live without. Our strategy is

around sampling, so we make up our

small bottles for clients to test before

purchasing it. If something’s not right,

we’ll swap it out for something that is.

That’s a wonderful approach. Tell us how you maintain retail? We create

loyalty around our salon and the brands

we stock. We offer a loyalty program on

our retail sales to encourage the client to

come back to us. We maintain retail sales

by offering brands like Evo that leave

clients hair feeling fabulous and stay in

close contact with them, in between

appointments.

What are the trends within the current market that impact retail? The trends

that we find affect our sales most tend to

be change of season with new hairdos

and colours. Our clients need a change,

so there’s always a focus on mixing their

products up.

How do you overcome quiet periods? Our stylists are committed to the growth

of our salon, which is wonderful. When

the diary starts to look gappy, we get

creative. We look at our downtime as a

chance to focus on what’s next – social

media strategy, training, sharing ideas

and focusing on our referral program.

Our salon continuously markets itself,

even when it’s busy, to avoid having

quiet periods.

And, can you share some of your in-salon promotion ideas? Our current

promotion is around Cloud Nine. We’re

giving away a gift voucher with any

styler sold. The voucher gives the client

a training session on how to get the

most out of their Cloud Nine tool. We

run this in salon, giving our clients the

opportunity to have their own Powder

Room experience.

RevampRetailMake way for a SALON SPACE

Retail expert, Debra Templar recommends that salon owners “totally refresh salons every 2 to 3 years; change mirrors, spruce up the paint, change the artwork on the walls and implement new retail strategies. The competition is too strong and the pace of change is incredible. If you have a choice of investing in refurbishing the salon or building a better website, invest in your salon first.”

Having access to resources like visual merchandisers, marketing managers or a customer relationship managers can be highly beneficial in the long run. Rachel Lander, lead retail specialist at Telleish Hair Studio, suggests keeping your strategy simple, “visual merchandising is all about what looks attractive to the eye. Less is more when it comes to this, pick one product you wish to target in sales for a couple of weeks and have a separate display in a high traffic area.” Rachel has a fluid approach to in-store promotion, “change is important, clients don’t want to see the same display or promotion every time they come into the salon. Move ranges to different shelves every 3 months to keep the salon looking fresh.”

With the recent online boom, it’s easy to see why so many of us have put our offline retail space to the wayside. But many new studies are demonstrating that customers are now looking for

a whole retail experience to connect them with their favourite brands via online and offline channels. For this reason, it’s now more important than ever that the physical presence of a salon retail space should leave a lasting impression of quality, knowledge and innovation that instills a connection between your salon and the client.

B U S I N E S S — Insider

44 H C N Z

CO-LOCATING

The concept of co-locating retail space is becoming a mainstay across Europe, providing a convenient extension of a brand's lifestyle. The philosophy behind co-locating is to house like-minded retail professionals under the same roof. Essentially, clients will have access to a haircut, a new outfit and an Instagram worthy lunch in an atmosphere that feels luxurious and on-trend.

On a recent trip to the UK, Brand Strategist Pippa Kulmar noticed co-locating offering a unique service that enhances the client experience. “Think about how you can make their time in your salon something special. For example, R U Cheeky is a nail salon that makes you feel like you are having a day out by offering a bar service while you’re being pampered. There is also a push into new locations for services, like department stores – where hair salons and beauty services are being emphasised more and more.”

SUBSCRIPTION MODELS

The world of retail doesn’t stop with the location and offering, Pippa also suggests re-thinking your pricing structure or creating a subscription model for regular customers. “Subscription models are becoming bigger and bigger,” says Rachel, “A subscription model is where you lock a customer into a set fee across a year. This works really well for routine services like cuts and colours or even sending a monthly package of hair essentials to your clients. The likes of Dry Bar in the United States have leveraged subscription models to great success. They have a BarFly membership where the subscriber gets two blowouts a month, a free birthday blowout and discounts on products.”

Having a strategy for the slower periods is another contributing factor to retail success. “When there is downtime allow yourself to focus on staff training, new incentives, re-segmenting your database or creating digital content. This is where you will build relationships and interact with your community. Researching new retail technology and trends during slow periods is great way to invest in your business. This allows you the opportunity to start saving, training or planning before the busy season” says Debra.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge is power when it comes to improving your retail business and service offering. Telleish Hair Studio approaches product training as part of their retail strategy, “we have regular training sessions in salon, using each other’s strengths and knowledge to help improve ourselves as hairdressers in general. If you don't know how a product works, what it feels like and smells like, how are you meant to share that knowledge with your clientele?” says Rachel. “One thing I always say is that retail isn’t just about selling; it deepens relationships with your clients as you educate them on what is best for their hair needs. Once the need is determined, I place the product on the bench beside the client and list off the top two benefits the client is going to notice. I don't want to overload them with information but instead inspire them to try the product.”

2017 Trend Forecast

` There will be an influx of co-locating with related retail professionals

` Customers will be spending more in retail spaces that have plants

` Roaming products throughout the retail space will have a positive impact on retail business

Around the WorldFrom humble Australian beginnings, the company founded by hairdressers for hairdressers

now spans the corners of the globe with locations in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and North America. We take a look at each spot, the best places to visit, eat and drink.

MABEAdelaide, Australia

Favourite thing about living in SA? That’s a tough one, as there are so many things we love about South Australia! Have you tried our wine? South Australia, particularly Adelaide is an easy city to get around, I mean we can get to most places in under an hour. We also harbour some great creatives, for example the kids at The Social Creative are a force unto themselves. And let’s not forget to mention Evo. I feel South Australia is a great place to start something fresh and new. A lot of great, clever, creative people that have left are starting to come home and realise that SA is a really great place to do fun creative things!

Top restaurant in SA? You can’t go wrong with Golden Boy, also it’s sister Africola. If we had to pick a high-end eatery, hands down it would be Orana.

Favourite bar in SA? Now that one is easy, we’re really digging The Summertown Aristologist. It’s well worth the drive to Summertown for their take on a "wine bar" They focus on natural wines from South Australia and natural organic small foods.

TELLEISH HAIR STUDIO Melbourne, Australia

Favourite place to eat? Kami Japanese in Footscray. It’s all you can eat for $39. It may not be the best-looking place, but you seriously won’t need to eat for a week. If I spoil myself though, I usually head out to Supernormal in the CBD.

Favourite thing about Melbourne? The weather... NOT! I love the grungy edgy side of Melbourne - secret laneways, hidden shops, little pop-up bars. It’s forever changing and holds so many amazing stories.

H A I R C A R E

EGO HAIR London, United Kingdom

Best thing about living in the UK? There is always somewhere new and exciting to go and check out, London is an amazing city!

Favourite place to visit? Literally anywhere in Europe. It's so accessible flying out from London.

Favourite bar? Soho House in

Shoreditch

46 H C N Z

ALLURE HAIRAuckland, New Zealand

Best thing to do in Auckland? The Harbour Bridge walk and bungee combo is an absolute must!

Favourite New Zealand catch phrase? How could it be anything other than "Sweet as bro"?

Best time of year to visit Auckland? Autumn – it’s a really great temperature, the leaves are changing colour and the landscape looks beautiful and picturesque. Warm days and crisp nights.

LOFT HAIRAuckland, New Zealand

Best thing about Auckland? It’s so hard to pinpoint one thing. You really have to live it, breath it and experience it to truly understand how amazing it is.

Favourite place to eat? Chur Burger – best

burgers in Auckland hands down!

PREMANew York City, United States

Favourite place to eat? There’s no way I would ever be able to pick just one! A delicious after work bite and a wine has me craving Spaghetti Incident on Eldridge St. For an Aussie inspired brunch, you can’t go past Dudley’s on Orchard St. And for an amazing dinner, cocktails and a dance, you have to try the Mexican at Pulqueria.

Best thing to do while in NYC? I’m yet to hear of someone that hasn’t been blown away by a night at Sleep No More. It’s a four-floor interactive theatre production where the mask wearing audience get to choose their own adventure; jumping from character to character, room to room. The after show debriefs with friends are the best. Make sure

you stay around until the finale. Trust me!
