Front panel lightingPerfect vision in bad light. With the front panel lighting, several LEDs that are integrated into the roll-over bar can be activated by a switch or a push button. The operating elements on the front panel are perfectly visible and potential dangers resulting from incorrect operation of the radio control, caused by impaired vision, can now be prevented. This feature helps the operator to keep an overview in complete darkness or in working environ-ments with bad light conditions.

The function is available for the spectrum series.

Page 4: HBC Smart Options3.imimg.com/data3/OR/WS/MY-3287415/cl_hbc-radiomatic...User identification is available for the transmitters quadrix, keynote, radiomatic® pilot, micron 5 / 7, linus

Tandem operationIdeal for long or heavy loads. The tandem operation enables the simultaneous control of up to 4 cranes with a single transmitter. This proven, reliable feature is therefore ideal if the capacity of a single crane is not sufficient for the transportation of an exceptionally heavy load. At the same time, it is the perfect choice for the transportation of long or bulky loads such as steel beams.

By mounting the load on 2 or more crane hooks, the load weight can be equally allocated, avoiding the dangerous tilting of the load. This considerably enhances working safety!

The selection of the required cranes is made by means of a rotary or selection switch. The labeling of the operating elements clearly indicates which cranes are currently selected.

Available for all HBC crane controls (except orbit, cubix and radiomatic® pilot).

Crane pre-selection by rotary switch.

In order to eliminate dangers in tandem operation of several cranes, a reliable cross-communication between the cranes has to be ensured. If a safety-relevant function on a crane (e. g. “raise hoist” in case of overload) is blocked, it causes the other cranes to react accordingly. If the operator moves one crane in tandem operation into the region of the limit switch, the crane movement function on the other crane is stopped as well.

focus C is an intelligent choice for the implementation of crane cross-communication.

This is how it works:A focus C module for cross-communication is installed on each crane bridge in addition to the radio receiver. Information-exchange between cranes is implemented by these modules. They are connected to their respective receivers via CAN inter-faces. Using CAN technology saves time for wiring and allows for the reduction of logic equipment.

The amount of information that can be exchanged via cross-communication depends on the number of respective inputs on the radio receiver. HBC-radiomatic offers a broad range of possibilities according to the customer’s demands.

Pre-selection of trolley / hoistEasy, safe, efficient.HBC radio controls are perfect for the control of cranes with 2 trolleys / hoists. If the capacity of a single hoist is not sufficient for the transportation of a load, the crane operator can conveniently add another hoist by using the radio control. By using both trolleys simultaneously, bulky or extra-wide loads can also be handled safely.

Pre-selection by switch / buttonThe requested trolleys / hoists are easily selected with a rotary switch or a selection button. The position of the selection switch or special LEDs inform the operator about which trolleys / hoists are currently selected.

Pre-selection by push button.

Pre-selection by rotary switch.

Pre-selection by joystick.

Pre-selection by joystick (relative trolley pre-selection)With this version, the trolleys / hoists are directly selected by a joystick. First, the operator activates the “relative trolley pre-selection” with the respective operating element. Trolley pre-selection is now available through the lateral axis of the hoist joystick. The trolley / hoist can now be controlled by left or right movement of the joystick. If both are to be controlled simultaneously, the operator simply leaves the joystick in the middle position.

The pre-selection by button / switch is available for all HBC crane controls (except orbit and cubix). Pre-selection by joystick is available for all HBC systems with joysticks (except linus 4).

Catch-release Crane sharing increases crane efficiency.

Example: activation by toggle switch.

With the catch-release function, 2 or more users can alternately control 1 crane with 2 or more radio controls. By means of a switch or a button, a crane can be released and taken over by another operator.

This function can optimize crane utilization or even eliminate the need for an additional crane by crane sharing. Walking distances can be reduced for lifts on long runways, considerably enhancing safety. Operators now have the ability to easily pass control of the crane to another operator with a better view of the situation.

Options such as extended catch-release (e. g. 3 operators on 4 cranes) are also available.

This feature is available for all HBC crane controls (except orbit, cubix, quadrix, radiomatic® pilot).

radiomatic® iON / iLOG Easy service without downtime.

Transmitter with radiomatic® iLOG.

The electronic keys radiomatic® iON and radiomatic® iLOG enable the quick activation of a spare transmitter in case the original transmitter is damaged.

Data required for the activation of the radio system such as the frequency and individual address codes are stored on the radiomatic® iON / iLOG. In service cases, the key is simply removed from the original transmitter, automatically deactivating the unit. The key is then plugged / screwed into the spare transmitter. The data contained on the key are transmitted and the radio system is again operational. Expensive downtime is a thing of the past! Another advantage: the data trans - mission is completely wireless, making both keys basically wear-free.

radiomatic® iON comes standard with vector pro, linus 6 and technos and is optionally available for patrol D.

radiomatic® iLOG is standard for quadrix, radiomatic® pilot, keynote, micron 5 / 7, linus 4, eco, technos 2 and the spectrum series.

Depending on the customer’s wishes, the HBC data logger stores different operational data, such as the usage time of drive functions. It can be used separately or in combination with the HBC user identification. In this combination, data are collected individually for each user. It is then easy to determine how long the crane was used by which user and with which functions the user has worked. In addition, it is also possible to calculate the loads carried by individual cranes. The collected data can be helpful in various situations, for example in service cases.

The data are easily read out via a Bluetooth® interface and are visualized with a newly developed software.

The HBC data logger is available for all HBC radio systems with CAN interface.

The user identification is based on a convenient login-card (HBC Smart Card) in credit-card size. It is used to activate the control and protects the system from unauthorized use. In addition, it can be configured individually.

It can be defined for each HBC Smart Card to which machines the respective operator has access and which functions they can use. User identification is the ideal tool to lock safety-relevant functions for unauthorized users and unlock them for authorized personnel.

With radiomatic® infrakey, the radio system can only be activated if there is an infrared connection between the transmitter and the receiver. With this feature, the transmitter is required to be in line of sight of its corresponding receiver. Dangers such as an accidental activation of the system can be prevented.

The maximum range of the infrared beam is 20 meters; the angle of radiation is about 30°.

This function is available for quadrix, micron 5 / 6 / 7, linus 4, eco, technos 2 and the spectrum series, as well as for all HBC receivers (except FSE 308 / 312).

In emergencies, these safety features can prevent the uncontrolled output of a command and protect the operator from unintended movements of the machine.

Depending on the version ordered, the features can react in 3 different manners: •The complete radio system is deactivated.•Safety-relevant functions are deactivated.•A previously defined function (e. g. crane horn) is activated.

radiomatic® shock-offThis feature can be triggered if the transmitter receives a hard impact. If, for example, the transmitter is hit by a hard object and is no longer under control, radiomatic® shock-off can quickly react and protect the operator.

radiomatic® shock-off / roll-detect / zero-g Outstanding safety features that help eliminate potential danger.

radiomatic® roll-detectThis function can detect if the transmitter is rolling and react accordingly. The function can also be activated if the transmitter is placed front-down for about 2 seconds.

radiomatic® zero-gThis clever feature can be activated if the transmitter is dropped or thrown, before an actual impact occurs. Thus, unintended machine activity can be prevented if the transmitter should fall down or is being thrown from one operator to another.

This feature is activated if one or more joysticks are operated in an unrealistic manner. If, for example, the operator actuates the joysticks erratically or successively in different directions, the intelligent feature intervenes.

Depending on the ordered version, the feature can react in 3 different manners: •The complete radio system is deactivated.•Safety-relevant functions are deactivated.•A previously defined function (e. g. crane horn) is activated.

This function protects the operator from potential dangers from fast or erratic crane / machine movements that would result from such an improbable operation. At the same time, the machine is protected from wear because abrupt movements are avoided.

Automatic shut-off on implausible control commands The intelligent protection from unrealistic operation.

In order to prevent unnecessary work interruptions, the automatic shut-off intervenes only after a sequence of several questionable movement commands.

This function is available for the transmitter eco.

With the orthogonal drive option, the operator can only move the crane / machine into the direction in which they initially engaged the joystick. The operator will have to return the joystick back to zero position before another directional command can be activated.

When the orthogonal drive is activated, diagonal move-ments are not possible. This is ideal for situations where the operator has to maneuver through tight, narrow spaces. With this option, dangerous situations caused by unintentional diagonal movements are being prevented.

The orthogonal drive function is standard for radiomatic® pilot and available for all trans- mitters with joysticks.

With the micro drive function, the speed of the crane / machine can easily be limited to a preselected level. Even if the joystick is fully engaged, the operator cannot exceed this speed limit.

Thus, demanding drive maneuvers can be managed with ease and inexperienced users can be protected from potential dangers that can result from “speeding”.

The function is standard for radiomatic® pilot and available for all transmitters with joysticks.

Live video transmission with video cameraKeeps track of all machine movements. The live video transmission with video camera offers safe operation in complicated working areas. This top feature works with up tp 8 video cameras simultaneously. They can be installed in a good position on the machine or in the working environ-ment and then transmit precise live images to the 3.5" TFT of the transmitter over a separate radio link. The desired camera can be easily selected with a switch. The resolution of the non-reflecting display is 320 x 240 pixels.

A special feature is the integrated day/night switching. As soon as the illumination in the working area falls below a pre-determined value, the cameras automatically activate several infrared LEDs. This means that the operator can also work when it is dark!

In order to take perfect advantage of the versatile possibilities of the 3.5" TFT, a simple switching is integrated into the new technology: if the operator no longer needs the live camera view, they can switch back to the standard display view with a toggle switch (available for technos 2, in preparation for spectrum D and spectrum E).

The live video transmission is available for the transmitters technos 2, spectrum D and spectrum E.

The high-performance camera provides live images in excellent resolution.

With the vibration alarm, the operator can be informed about critical conditions on the machine as well as faults and potential dangers through the vibration of the transmitter. This results in significantly enhanced safety because the operator can react in time and prevent dangerous situations.

The information which is being indicated by the vibration alarm can be customized to the specific application requirements. Common examples are pre-warnings for high wind speeds or for impending excess crane loads. The critical value for acti-vating the alarm function can also be set in accordance to the customer’s needs.

The vibration alarm comes standard with orbit, radiomatic® pilot, micron 5 / 7 and eco. It is optionally available for technos 2 and the spectrum series. Unless speci-fied by the customer, this excellent feature will activate when the battery is running low (exception: radiomatic® pilot). Custom feedback indication is also available as an option. For radiomatic® pilot, the vibration of the transmitter indicates the unlocking of the inclination function and the speed of the respective crane function. If not needed, the vibration alarm can be deactivated.

The enabling switch provides enhanced safety when the machine is in setting, service or observation mode as well as for machines with multiple operators.

In order to transmit control commands to the machine, the operator has to keep the switch pushed into first step. Only then the other operating elements on the transmitter are unlocked. If the operator releases thebutton or presses it into the second step (e. g. because of a cramp in panic situations), all machine movements are immediately stopped.

Enabling switch Additional working safety.

With this, the operator is protected from dangerous unintended machine movements in case he should lose consciousness or no longer has control over the transmitter.

If an application is controlled by more than one operator, movement commands can only be performed if all opera-tors keep the enabling switch pushed into first step.

Suitable transmitters: patrol S / D, vector pro, eco, technos and the spectrum series.

focus CWhen several cranes are used in tandem operation, a secure communication between the cranes is essential. If, for example, one crane reaches the limit switch and is stopped automatically, the other cranes need to be stopped as well. focus C ensures a smooth crane communication in tandem operation. The use of a CAN interface saves a great amount of wiring effort and thus valuable time.

focus DServing as an external antenna, focus D ensures an optimal radio connection for radio systems with DECT technology.

focus TAs an external RF module, focus T offers a perfectly functioning radio connection, even under difficult circumstances over a great distance. Depending on the working situation, up to 15 modules can be installed in different positions. As additional radio receivers, they receive all commands from the radio transmitter and relay it to the central radio receiver. There, they are analyzed and sent to the crane / machine as output commands. Obstacles in the radio path can thus be efficiently avoided and even long distances can be bridged with ease.

The focus modules can be combined with all radiobus® receivers.

radiomatic® AFS Fast and reliable. AFS stands for Automatic Frequency Selection: when the transmitter is activated, the system automatically searches for a free radio channel. If another radio user later activates a radio system on the same channel, all the user has to do is shortly deactivate the transmitter and activate it again. radiomatic® AFS immediately looks for a free radio channel and work can continue without losing time.

radiomatic® AFS is available for patrol S / D, quadrix, keynote, vector pro, micron 5 / 6 / 7, linus 4 (linear lever version only), linus 6, eco, technos, technos 2 and the spectrum series.

Manual frequency switchSimple and convenient. With the manual frequency switch, the operator can easily switch to the next radio channel by pushing a button. If this channel is also occupied, he can switch again. There is a total of 16 frequency channels available.

The manual frequency switch is standard for all HBC systems (except orbit, cubix, radiomatic® pilot and linus 4). Alternatively, these systems remain available with fixed frequency.

The function is activated by pushing the Start button. Example system FST 727 spectrum A.

DECTRenowned and comfortable.DECT is an extremely convenient method for uninterrupted radio control without frequency conflicts. This technology works on an exclusive frequency band between 1880 – 1900 MHz in a self-optimizing time division multiplex. The frequency management is completely automatic: switching frequencies manually is not necessary; the operator can work without interruptions.

DECT is available for quadrix, micron 5 / 7, linus 4 / 6 , eco, technos, technos 2 and the spectrum series as well as all HBC receivers.

radiomatic® AFM Maximum comfort. AFM stands for the world’s first Automatic Frequency Management by HBC-radiomatic: with its innovative technology, the system constantly detects free radio frequencies. If the radio frequency currently in use is also occupied by another radio system, radiomatic® AFM automatically switches to a free radio frequency within a fraction of a second. The user can continue work completely uninterrupted. With AFM, switching the radio transmitter off and on is unnecessary.

radiomatic® AFM is available for the transmitters technos 2, spectrum 2, spectrum B, spectrum 3, spectrum D and spectrum E.

Example system FST 308 radiomatic® pilot. Example system FST 736 spectrum B.

2.4 GHz technologyIntelligent and versatile! The intelligent frequency management via 2.4 GHz technology has many decisive advantages: the frequency management is already integrated into the radio system and works completely automatic. Manual frequency coordination with other radio users is not necessary, which saves valuable time! In addition, the technology is approved almost worldwide and thus extremely versatile.

The 2.4 GHz technology comes standard with orbit and radiomatic® pilot and is optionally available for all other HBC radio transmitters (except cubix).

radiomatic® CPS (= Continuous Power Supply) enables a battery exchange without interrupting power. For this, the transmitter is equipped with two battery compart-ments or an additional, integrated battery. By means of two LEDs, the operator can at all times see which battery is in use or if a battery needs to be charged. If a battery has to be charged, the process automatically switches to the battery in the second compartment or the intergated battery. The radio system remains active. Thus the feature is perfect for applications where long and continuous crane or machine operations are required.

radiomatic® CPS is optionally available for spectrum 3, spectrum D and spectrum E.
