Specialized Program Activities Directions: On the first day of school closures, students may complete activities for each day. Day 1 Reading: Choose a book- Read with an adult. Have your child identify (point to) the Title, Author, 1 Character, and 1 setting. Math: Using a snack, count the number of pieces within the snack. Have your child put 1 snack into the bowl, then eat. Have the child put 2 snacks into the bowl, then eat- continue upto 5 snacks.6`1 Day 2 Reading: Choose a book- Read with an Adult. Identify the Letters A- M. Math: Identify shapes in your home. Find a circle item, square item, triangle item, rectangle item, heart item, and star item. Day 3 Reading:Choose a book- Read with an Adult. Identify the Letters N-Z. Math: “On” and “Off” activities. Put a toy on the table, take a toy off the table. Turn the lights on, turn the lights off. Day 4 Reading: My 5 senses activity (sight)- With an adult, go to your bedroom and identify 5 items that you can see. Discuss how each item looks different. Directions: On the first day of school closures, students may complete activities for each day.

Day 1 Reading: Choose a book- Read with an adult. Have your child identify (point to) the Title, Author, 1 Character, and 1 setting.

Math:Using toys (blocks, cars). Have your child put 1 toy in a basket, then put 2 toys- continue up to 5 toys. Proceed to have them sort toys by colors and shapes.

Day 7 Reading: My 5 senses activity (hearing)- With an adult, go to your backyard. Identify 5 sounds you hear. Discuss where these sounds are coming from and what is making the sound.

Math: Identify colors around the home. Find the following colors: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, white, black, gray, and pink.

Day 8 Reading: My 5 senses activity (touch)- With an adult, collect 5 toys/objects and place them in a bag. Reach your hand in the bag and describe what you feel. Hard? Soft? Bumpy? Smooth?

Math: Identify the month, day of the week, season, and weather. Then, go on a nature walk and discuss the changes in the weather/season. Find and count 10 leaves, gumballs, rocks.

Day 9 Reading: My 5 senses activity (smell)- During lunch, before you eat, smell each item in front of you. With an adult, discuss how each item smells and how they are different.

Math: Dribble a ball 5 times. Throw the ball 5 times to an adult. Catch a ball 5 times.

Day 10 Reading: Clap out syllables. How many syllables are in the following words: your name, house, baseball, cupcake, hamburger, car, kangaroo.

Math: How old are you? Represent your age with the same number of objects from your home.
