SUBJECT: DSS\Health\Building and Environmental Services Furniture Moving Notice ofAward, Contract Approval and Notice to Proceed

REQUEST: Award Furniture Bid Project, approve AlA Document A151-2007 Contract and

approve Notice to Proceed for Professional Business Interiors of Asheville based onnegotiated contract amount.

BACKGROUND: Haywood County Board of County Commissioners approved to enter intonegotiations with Professional Business Interiors of Asheville at the regularly scheduled meetingon September 19, 2011. Haywood County staff, Padgett &Freeman Architects and ProfessionalBusiness Interiors walked through all the facilities to find areas of cost savings for the furnitureand file relocation. Professional Business Interiors sent the negotiated cost breakdown toHaywood County for the revised contract amount. Professional Business Interiors also includeda donation of moving the Meals on Wheels Kitchen items at no charge to Haywood County. Thiswas not in the original bid documents due to the plan was to have the Facilities andMaintenance Staff relocate these items.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN: Approve {Notice of Award}, {Furniture Relocation Contract} and{Notice to Proceed} within the budget perimeters.

FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT: Approve funding from the Adaptive Renovation Project

Furniture portion in the amount of $32,376.00
