HCA HAS EXCITING PLANS IN APRIL!
Curriculum: We've recently purchased Frogstreet, a nationally recognized leader in preschool
curriculum. Our teachers will begin training on Frogstreet in April. Coming soon, HCA will
incorporate Frogstreet into our preschool lessons to enhance your child's education. Cheryl
Myers, our curriculum specialist, will have more information in the coming weeks.
The Get Well Place: When children are sick, they want to be with their parents, and their
parents will find a way to care for them. This is why very few children spend sick days in the
GWP. We have 218 children currently attending HCA. We average a little more than one child
in the GWP per week. In the past 12 months, the GWP was empty for 8 weeks. The GWP is
such a wonderful space for children, but it's not in use. In an effort to change this, I will be
transforming the GWP into a new nursery. Rest assured, Nurse Meecsha is not going anywhere.
She will have a designated space at HCA to attend to all the health and wellness needs of your
children. Once this renovation is complete, the babies will now have more space in an
environment perfectly suited for them. The renovation will begin in April.
The Outpost's Playground: Our school age children will be receiving some new renovations to
their playground. We will begin working on them the last weekend in April.
Preschool Mural: We are updating the preschool mural. The train's gone and the muralist is
scheduled to begin the new mural the week of April 9.

News from the Preschool
Spring has sprung! Please remember to bring a change of clothes for the upcoming warmer
weather we will be having.
We had such a great end to our month of March. Officer O’Neal from the
Haymarket Police Department came by to do a safety check. We
appreciated him checking in on the children here at Haymarket Children’s
Academy, he is part of an ongoing effort to make sure the surrounding
Preschools, Childcare Centers and Public Schools are safe and secure.
The Easter egg hunt went great and the children had a blast. We had over
750 eggs for the kids to find, that is a lot of eggs!

Outpost Happenings!
Hello Outpost parents!
Finally, winter is over! No more cold mornings or frost to scrape off your vehicles! Soon
warm weather and flowers will come and all will be well again. With our name change to
Haymarket Children’s Academy and the Grade school program now called The Outpost,
it may be difficult to keep names straight. That’s okay! It’s a tough transition for us too,
and to throw you through another loop, CAMP BLUE RIDGE is our new camp name!
We will have flyers out with information on field trips and costs per week.
This is an exciting year for us and we can’t wait to see what is in store for all our
Outpost children, we plan to do things bigger and better than ever!

medication to be administered while Get Well is closed.
