HAWAII’S GAMERS “STREET FIGHT FOR HUNGER” FOR HAWAI’I FOOD
BANK
Local Hawaii Video Gaming League holds annual video gaming tournament to raise
funds for the needy.
HONOLULU, Hawaii (April 13, 2011) – Gamers unite to fight a common foe: hunger.
Hawaii Video Gaming League (HVGL) will be holding their annual “Street Fight for
Hunger” gaming tournament in support of the Hawai’i Food Bank at Loft (115 N Hotel
St.) on June 9th. Following up the tremendous success of last year’s tournament, HVGL
hopes to surpass their previous years earnings of over 500 canned food donations with an
additional pot of $2000.
This event marks the 4th annual HVGL “Street Fight for Hunger”. All of the previous
years earnings were donated to the Hawai’i Food Bank. Thanks to sponsor Razor
Concepts, last year’s tournament winner also received an additional prize of an all-
expense paid trip to the Evolution National Championships with a semi-final seeded spot.
“It was the most successful charity event we have had to date,” said Jeff Young,
commissioner of HVGL.
