The science of DNA
Imagine:We’re at the scene of a crime. The police haven’t got a lot of
evidence. They’ve got one small hair from the criminal’s
head. But with that hair, they’ve got a lot of information about the criminal – thanks to
the science of DNA.
Every person on this planet has got DNA in their body. And every
person’s DNA is different. Scientists can look at one hair
from a person’s head and say, for example:
•The person is a man.•He hasn’t got brown eyes.•He hasn’t got black hair.
Thanks to the scientists, we’ve got a picture of the criminal!
