For soft power it needs to have its own special culture and be a democratic country.

For hard power , it needs to have a great economic system and have a well - developed industry in its country.

So we will follow our definition to figure out that is Japan a modern & powerful nation .

conclusion In conclusion, we think that Japan is a powerful &

modern nation.

For its hard power, it has a great economic, only behind the USA and China.

For its soft power, it has something that leading other country ― democracy, also Japan’s culture in recent year is towards to international.

Also, Japan is a well-developed nation. Its high-technology proved that Japan is a modern country.
