The boy sat down on the dry grass. He picked up a leaf and turned it over in his hand. He was thinking... thinking hard about something he’d done that was very, very, wrong. He knew it was wrong when he did it... but he did it anyway. And now he felt sick to his stomach because he knew his parents were going to find out today, and he would be punished. He tried to think of what he would say to them, but he knew he didn’t have any excuse. As he looked at the beautiful leaf in his hand, and the way his fingers all moved together, he thought some more . . . “This world is so amazing . . . there must be a Creator.” Then he wondered something, “I wonder if God has rules that I’ve broken too?” The answer to his question was “yes.” Check yourself: How many times have you lied? Have you ever taken something that didn’t belong to you? (That’s stealing.) You should never use God’s name to curse, but how many times have you said, “Oh my G-d!”? Have you ever been disrespectful toward your parents? These are some of God’s “Ten Commandments.” If you’ve broken them that’s called “sin” and you will be guilty on the day God judges people. God’s place of punishment is called Hell, and it lasts forever. Hopefully that truly scares you, because if it does, then the next thing you read is going to be very good news! You see, God provided a way so that you do not have to pay for your own sins in Hell. In fact God loves you so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, taking your punishment for you. Then He rose from the dead, defeating death forever. The Bible says that if you turn away from your sins in sorrow toward God for what you’ve done, and put your full trust in Jesus to save you, then God will forgive all your sins and you will be welcomed into Heaven when you die. The scariest part of this true story is that some people will not repent. And that means Jesus will not take their punishment for them. Don’t be one of those people. Pray to God now telling Him you want to repent and place your faith in Jesus today. Then get a Bible and read it every day. God will never leave you. CREEPY WEBSITE BONY QUIZ 1.
