and it's our job to ensure that shines through in the individualityof the occasion. It's what separates us from the crowd, and isperhaps the single-most significant reason why, decades afterthey first tied the knot, couples still return, year after year, tocelebrate their anniversaries "at home".

Our services include the complete co-ordination andarrangement of your wedding, the accompanying feast orbanquet, floral, photographic and make-up arrangements, aswell as the engagement of musicians, bands, and wherenecessary, an introduction to a minister of religion.

Designed and built by a senator, the last prime minister of Colonial Natal and the first prime minister of South Africa, the HartfordChapel came from humble beginnings. It was the foundation of what is now NCD Dairies, the continent's largest dairy business,and the tethering rings for the cows that graced its hallowed confines, still line its historic walls. Today it serves as a multi-denominationalfacility serving not only local religious communities, but also the weddings and memorial services of Hartford's guests.

Alongside, our forty seater theatre is equipped to connect

business people to the world, and offers every technologicalaid you would expect of a world class venue of its kind.It is also favoured by bridal and birthday parties for the viewingof “memory lane” DVD or video footage from the past.

Fold-away doors and windows command vistas over acascading series of lakes at the foot of the garden, while thecool of winter is offset by underfloor heating throughout.

CHAPEL

MUSIC can be arranged to suit your taste, whether for thechapel, a soloist, string quartet, a school or Zulu choir, bagpipes etc. The same applies to the reception and post ceremonydrinks and canapés. Favourite is our troupe of outstanding Zuludancers who have ranked among the best at the WorldTraditional Dance Championships.

COCKTAILS AND CANAPES may be served in the garden, postceremony. These beverages will be quoted according to hotelrates and are subject to change, as dictated by our suppliers.

We have the names of various denominational MINISTERS orlicensed wedding officials. Once you have decided on HartfordHouse as a venue and the type of wedding service you require,we will supply the appropriate contact details, if needed.

You may want to use your own FLORIST or you can liaise witha recommended florist regarding choice of flowers, style ofarrangements and cost. These would be discussed with youin detail when liaising with our florist.

PHOTOGRAPHERS - Hartford House is happy to recommendphotographers who are well acquainted with our facilities.

MENUS - Our award winning chef Jackie Cameron will behappy to discuss your wedding menu with you. This will enableyou to select a menu that personalises your style of eating,and enable you to enquire about your favourite dishes. Menusinclude canapès served pre-lunch or dinner.

BEVERAGES - Hartford House has a large range of local andinternational beverages available. We unfortunately do notcarry a corkage fee. Hartford has a five star wine list as votedby Top 10 Restaurant Guide, which has a large range of somefrom the country’s finest wine growers.

WEDDING CAKE - Our chef is able to bake a variety of artisticallydesigned wedding cakes. You may wish to send us a pictureor brief description of your style of cake and we would thenquote you on this, dependent on your style and choice.

FACILITIES - The Manor House is able to accommodate moreintimate functions or weddings up to 50 guests . For biggerevents exceeding 50 people we recommend the use of theSchool of Excellence.

MISCELLANEOUS SERVICES - Hairstylist, make-up artist, horseand carriage, vintage car hire, trout fishing, clay pigeon shooting,golfing, ballooning, horse riding, Wellness Centre etc. can bearranged. We have a range of excellent service providers tomake your special day and all your requests an unforgettableexperience.

WELLNESS CENTRE - Holistic massages, therapeutic treatmentsand relaxing facials available for the bridal party and guests.Prior booking essential. Come and indulge with us as we relaxyour body and mind with holistic therapy in a peaceful, tranquilenvironment. Just what you need before your weddingceremony.

Secures the venue for the duration of your wedding; it is credited againstthe charges for your wedding.

Returned to you once a full stock take of the venue has been completed.

We have 15 suites available for your guests to enjoy for the weekendof your wedding in order to secure the intimacy of occasion it is necessaryto reserve all our accommodation for both the Friday and Saturdayevenings.

We offer a special rate of R 1 150.00 pp for 14 of our suites andR 750.00 pp sharing for the remaining smaller room in the manor house.Single occupancy is R 1 350.00 pp per night. The bridal couple enjoy acomplimentary suite on the wedding evening.

This equates to:R 1 150.00 x 14 suites for the Friday evening on a B&B sharing basis

Most couples syndicate the accommodation out and we are happy toassist with the allocation of these deposits and final bills, but the roomallocations as well as the amounts payable by guests are to be given toHartford House in writing 4 months prior to the wedding. Any suites notoccupied by your guests for the weekend will be your responsibility tosettle at the end of the weekend.

Should you wish to add on a night’s accommodation, for example theThursday or Sunday evening, STO rates will be charged. These are ournormal rack rates, less 20%.

CHILDREN: We will accommodate children, if all the accommodation istaken by your guests, we have stretcher beds available and we can advisewhich suites would be best to accommodate children. Some of our suiteshave twin beds (4, 6 and 7). 10% on the final Food and Beverage account for the evening of thewedding.

R 50.00 per hour per babysitter, and R 75.00 per hour per babysitterafter midnight. Please arrange for a babysitter at least 7 days in advance.(limited to 3 children per babysitter).

R 75.00 per hour per staff member after midnight - The cut off is 2am.

We charge 20% on any bookings, delivered and paid for by HartfordHouse for your wedding (service providers).

Hartford House is an extremely popular wedding venue and we restrictthe number of weddings we host. In order to secure your special weekendwedding, we require that you settle the Non Refundable Deposit - tosecure your booking - within 2 weeks of selecting a date.The balance, which comprises of the value of 2 days’ accommodationon a double occupancy basis, is payable 3 months prior to your wedding.The Venue Hire is payable within 4 months of your wedding date.Bride and Groom can settle deposits either by credit card or EFT - Proofof payment must be supplied - this is the client’s responsibility.In the event of non payment of a deposit, the Hotel reserves the rightto cancel the booking without notice or liability to the client.

You are required to use our restaurant on the Friday evening.Our meals are plated menus.Cut-off time for the venue is 2am - however if guests become unruly andthere is an increase in breakages we reserve the right to close the venue.Bride and Groom to please confirm in writing the time they require thebar to stay open till.We have a no corkage policy. We are aware many people have connectionsin the wine industry but we ask that you don’t bring in any alcohol.We are more than happy to assist with sourcing your perfect wine.

Required at least ten days prior to the wedding, this is the minimumamount you will be charged for. Once advised, your account will bedebited for this number, notwithstanding that fewer may attend, as wewill be committed to invoicing you for at least that number.

Payable on departure. We will invoice you six days prior to the wedding,once final numbers have been confirmed, and all other expenses arepayable on departure.
