Note from Mrs. Harrison Dear Families, Congratulations go out to all the students who made their October BookIt! goal! I will be accepting Oct. Calendars through Thursday. A November Book It! Calendar was sent home last week. Please continue to encourage your child to read at home. Conferences are next week. Your child should be bringing home a conference letter today or tomorrow. I will send them out just as soon as I get them. Please send back the bottom portion of the letter ASAP. All the children had fun eating donuts from a string, playing the guessing game, mummifying their classmates with toilet paper and sampling the tasty treats! The students also had fun on Thursday creating monsters and writing about them. The students who ordered books in the October book order should be receiving their books sometime during the next few weeks. Students will have a sneak peek at the Stewart Book Fair this Friday. Students will be able to purchase books next week. Report Cards will be sent home with students on Thursday. I will be happy to discuss any questions you have about your child’s grades during conferences next week.

Sneak Peek at the Week Ahead

Science-This week the students will be finishing their unit on Earth and Earth’s materials. There will be a test on Thursday. Look for a study guide to come home on Tuesday.

Social Studies-Students will begin Chapter 3, Explorers from Far Away in our Michigan History book. Some explorers they will learn about include: Etienne Brule, Jacques Marquette, Robert LaSalle, and Antoine Cadillac. Students will also be using a globe to identify longitude and latitude lines.
