HARNAS WILDLIFE FOUNDATION
EXCLUSIVE VOLUNTEER PROJECT:
By being a part of this exclusive program you will experience an environment of
amazing animals, their lives, destiny and realities.
GOOD LUCK!
Exclusive Volunteer Project
2
Harnas developed an “Exclusive Working Guest” program to present a unique and
unforgettable experience to our mature guests. By joining this program, people from
all over the world have the opportunity to experience an exceptional journey into
wildlife and witness the passion of a family who lost everything but gained a lot more.
By doing this you will also contribute to the daily running cost on Harnas for animal
care taking and the saving of animal lives.
Program Details
Upon arrival at Harnas we will have an introduction program allowing Harnas to offer
you a hearty welcome, give you all the support you need and prepare you to feel
comfortable in your new living environment for the next two weeks.
We require you to:
Be an animal lover
Be a team worker
Commit yourself to think out of your box
Expect the unexpected!
3
That implies:
It is very important that you forget about any preconceived perceptions
created on what you have learned about Harnas from the web, people
or any other related info. It’s good to have references and information,
but be open-minded. This is the most important rule, because you want to
structure and create your own images, expressions and memories.
Example – no one can tell you how to bond with a cheetah, this you have
to earn by meeting the animal on terms that only you and this animal will
establish. The rules and procedures we will indicate to you but the beauty
of Harnas lies in your own input and the way you experience it.
Be committed and willing to do all kinds of work, thus contributing to
better the life of the animals. You are at times going to be dirty, tired,
frustrated and even have some fears but all of these factors are little
pieces and when added together forms your own unique Harnas puzzle.
As you walk this Harnas road, every moment spent will give you insight to
the full picture, filled with passion and thus creating your own
understanding – giving you the unique Harnas Exclusive experience.
Be aware of the Africa Time. The real owners, inhabitants of Harnas,
sometimes change our entire day program. Times often become
something totally different.
In this limited time you have on Harnas, you have to make sure that you
find what you came for. The silence of nature, the wonder of saving
animal life, meeting real friends in a team, or maybe your own destiny,
yourself, or perhaps the purpose of your life.
Although having a clear structured program, we don’t want to stick to this
if a once in a lifetime experience might occur. We want you to find
yourself as part of the Harnas family within a structured program with
enough flexibility.
When the Vet is available the Exclusives will be assisting with the following activities:
Prioritizing and listing the animals for treatment.
Assisting the veterinarian with darting , treatment , cleaning ,observation
Animal Medical charts
Assist with wildlife veterinary cases, from disease testing to darting and
capture

And yet, we know that we have not always been faithful caretakers of our animals
Forgive us when we have dirtied their environment, erased places of shelter, polluted
the waters, killed off their food supplies or neglected to feed or tend animals in our
own communities.
You have made a beautiful world filled with wonder and surprises!
Learn more. Know more. Live more!
