with a Warm Heart Every year we open up our storage closets, and dig through the newly put away Halloween decorations. Then we sift through a few Easter baskets, muddle through a few extra clothes and odds and ends that were thrown on top, and find the red and green boxes. In those blessed boxes, are the colors, ornaments, fake pine needles, and early childhood ministries that transform our house into a joyful holiday. Where does all that stuff come from besides from your parents own Holiday Collections they don’t want any more? Why do we decorate the church, our city streets, and our mantles? What does it all really mean besides the fact it’s what we have always done? Typically, I write an intro like this to make a great theological point to bring you an insight into God’s word. Not this time. You will have to come to church on Dec 7th for the Hanging of the Greens, and the following Sundays to hear The Traditions of Christmas. Come find the meaning of the trees, lights and colors that draw us closer to the season of the birth of Christ. Each Sunday we will take different traditions and ask how they move us closer to God and not just collect dust for 11 months of the year. I look forward to this season of hope. My hope is that you find a closer relationship with God this Christmas as we celebrate His love together at Hardy. Grace & Peace, Rev. Preston Greenwaldt

We’re the Church with a Warm Heart

December 2014

Every year we open up our storage closets, and dig through the newly put away Halloween

decorations. Then we sift through a few Easter baskets, muddle through a few extra clothes and odds and ends that were thrown on top, and find the red and green boxes. In those blessed

boxes, are the colors, ornaments, fake pine needles, and early childhood ministries that transform

our house into a joyful holiday.

Where does all that stuff come from besides from your parents own Holiday Collections they

don’t want any more? Why do we decorate the church, our city streets, and our mantles? What does it all really mean besides the fact it’s what we have always done?

Typically, I write an intro like this to make a great theological point to bring you an insight into

God’s word. Not this time. You will have to come to church on Dec 7th for the Hanging of the Greens, and the following Sundays to hear The Traditions of Christmas. Come find the

meaning of the trees, lights and colors that draw us closer to the season of the birth of Christ.

Each Sunday we will take different traditions and ask how they move us closer to God and not just collect dust for 11 months of the year.

I look forward to this season of hope. My hope is that you find a closer relationship with God this

Christmas as we celebrate His love together at Hardy.

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Preston Greenwaldt

A Living Christmas Story

Hardy is going to have a live drive through Nativity Scene complete with the wise men,

shepherds and live animals. We need people to act as though they are in the city of

Bethlehem, help build sets, decorate, and clean up. As you see, this is going to take a lot

of work, so we need lots of participation. Everyone is welcome to join this cast and crew.

This is going to be a BIG production for Hardy, so we need a lot of help.

If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 903-793-1116.
