Comments:
I/O Fencing is not supported with Sun StorEdge Traffic Manager Software (STMS) (also known as MPxIO).
Symantec supports hardware products on this HCL that include virtualization capability, but does not
support compatibility issues that can be ascribed to the virtualization feature.
Symantec requires any compatibility issue to be reproduced in a non-virtualization environment. If the
issue is confirmed to be related to Symantec products, Symantec will support its software at the same
level as when that software is not running in conjunction with hardware virtualization products.
Symantec will, of course, cooperate with virtualization vendors, and attempt to assist in the diagnosis of
problems found between the virtualization and Symantec products.
A/P type arrays require a switch between hosts and storage for SFCFS or SFRAC use.
Indicates an item that has specific notes offering additional information
Veritas File System and Volume Replicator have no hardware dependencies.
VxVM = Veritas Volume Manager
SFCFS = Veritas Storage Foundation Cluster File System
SFRAC = Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC
VCS = Veritas Cluster Server
Active/Passive array using VxVM DMP
Indicates an item that is currently not supported
DMP = Dynamic Multipathing feature of Veritas Volume Manager
DEEP MAP = Ability to map database tables, VxFS/CFS files, and VxVM/CVM volumes to specific physical disks
All array types are supported in direct attach configurations with SFHA products.
A/A type arrays are supported in direct attach configurations with SFCFS or SFRAC products.
For A/A-A type arrays, inquire with the array vendor for specific limitations of use.
Hosts running SFCFS or SFRAC must be able to support three network interfaces (two private networks and one public), and
support shared disks. A minimum of two processors and 2g of memory is required.
Hosts running VCS must be able to support two network interfaces, and must have at least 256MB memory.
The VCS/Fencing option is only supported on arrays that support SFRAC.
For specific SAN boot information, see the hardware vendor's website.
Indicates an item that is currently supported
Active/Active array using VxVM-DMP
Direct Attach (no switch) configurations:
All storage configurations shown in this HCL were tested with drivers and firmware supported by the storage
array vendors. See the storage array vendor's recommendation for drivers and firmware levels, or contact the
vendor for specific drivers and firmware supported, as well as the vendor's support for the stated Symantec
products.

These arrays require use of a patch for SFRAC. Reference e933962, e964686. Contact Symantec Support at:
See the disk array manufacturer's recommendation for driver and firmware levels.
These arrays require use minimum firmware level of 06.16.88.00 or later for support on SFRAC.
VCS domain-to-domain failover is supported on this server.
Required ASL located on media or www.support.veritas.com
Partner pair configuration requires RW as the mp_support setting.
Storage Mapping supported.
If using firmware 3xxx or earlier (array mode A/P), these arrays use the vendor-supplied multipath driver instead of DMP. If
using firmware 4xxx or later (array mode A/A-A), these arrays use DMP with the appropriate ASL (see Note U).
At this time, supported only with QLogic HBAs.
These arrays support fencing with SFRAC; however, they do not support fencing with VCS due to differences in
implementation.
OEM versions of all listed switches are also supported.
This is a SCSI device and is not compatible with FC HBAs & switches.
All ASLs shown in this list support the releases
documented in each ASL, and later, including the Sun
Solaris 10 operating system and the current 4.1 MP1
release of Veritas software on Solaris.
Supported in block server mode. Data ONTAP software version 6.4 or higher required.
Includes support for embedded multi-mode optic interface.
Persistent binding is required for SAN booting.
Tru-Copy agent supported.
