Meet Your Guides

Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, DJ Alf Alpha has performed with such notable artists as Radiohead, Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, Arcade Fire, and more. He can be spotted as the resident DJ at Hard Rock alongside DJ Papparazzi.

Jessica Koslow is the chef proprietor of LA’s trendy breakfast/coffee/lunch spot Sqirl, and its counterpart Sqirl Away.

Shag is Josh Agle, a painter, designer and illustrator based in Southern California. His colorful, mod pieces often tell a story of indulgence and luxury. Agle considers Palm Springs his “second home.” The city also houses The Shag Store, a retail boutique and gallery dedicated to his art.

LA-based DJ Paparazzi can be spotted every Saturday and Sunday bringing the party poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs during the day, and at club Bardot every Friday and Saturday night.

Integral local fixture Bella Da Ball, also known as Brian Wanzek, is an entertainer, actor, and director who runs/performs at events like trivia nights, cabaret dinners, parties, and benefits throughout Palm Springs.

Chris & Dexy Valentine, Tommy Alexander, and Keith Crutchfield are Magic Wands, a dream pop/post punk outfit living in Los Angeles. Catch them at COLLiDE’s Not A Pool Party in Palm Springs at the Hard Rock Hotel on April 14 supporting Dan Deacon.

Los Angeles-based garage rock outfit The Dead Ships are vocalist/guitarist Devlin McCluskey, drummer Christopher Spindelilus, and bassist Alex Moore. McCluskey’s raspy vocals are the crux of the band’s sound, bolstered by grungy, spirited, guitar-centric rock.

Smart-pop quartet PHASES is a culmination of seasoned musicians Z Berg, Michael Runion, Alex Greenwald, and Jason Boesel. Formerly known as JJAMZ, the group will bring their feel-good jams to Coachella on April 16 and 23.

Caxton was voted Best Local Band in 2013 and Best Alternative Band in the Coachella Valley the following year. The alt-indie-pop quartet consists of Christina Reyes, Adam Surdin, Brett McLaughlin, and Brian Pelletier. They recently released their full-length LP Untitled.

LA by way of Michigan artist Garrett Borns (BØRNS) makes soothing, moody pop. His single “Electric Love” exploded in recent months, with over 55M plays on Spotify to date. Catch him at Coachella on April 15 and 22.

Producer Billy Mohler worked with artists like Kelly Clarkson, Liz Phair, and Lenka, before teaming up with vocalist Marlene Gold. The two met at a Speakeasy where Gold was performing an acoustic set in Venice before a small audience. The duo is a delightful, surfy throwback to ‘60s garage-pop.
