founding businesses and leading social
change, women have been influential in
both public and private life. This exhibit
looks at the lives of the founding women
of Gig Harbor, including unique
historical artifacts and images. Harbor

known political tension between
the first British settlers and the
Americans who crossed the
Oregon Trail fifteen years later.
The British legal ownership of the
precious land in the Puget Sound
region was confirmed by interna-
tional treaty. The well-known
"Pig War" was a direct result of
the "squeeze" aggressive Ameri-
can settlers put on the British
owners.
Ramsey taught at all levels, Pre-
School to Grad School, in public
schools, universities, and learning
centers for over 30 years. He is a
skilled teacher, public speaker,
history re-enactor, and radio an-
nouncer. His voice has been rec-
orded for historical sites, com-
mercials, public service an-nouncements and the popular
swing music shows, "Remember
When" and "The Big Band Broad-
cast" heard on several radio sta-
tions.
