This event raised $395 for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

The Mission of Folds of Honor Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities. FHF provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service to our great nation. Our unique scholarships can be applied to schooling now or held by Folds of Honor on behalf of young children until needed at the time of enrollment. The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 pilot, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. After returning from his second tour, Major Rooney witnessed a profound situation that drove him to create the Folds of Honor Foundation. Grand Harbor Supports Hospice

Festival of Trees

T he Ladies of Grand Harbor LGA and made 16 custom table runners and centerpieces to decorate the tables at the Ladies’ Luncheon on

November 30th and sold them for $50/set in support of Greenwood’s Hospice of the Piedmont Festival of Trees. Patti Gagstetter decorated a "North Pole Village" tree for the live auction and a "Let It Snow" wreath for the silent auction. Barb Sepiol decorated a beautiful ribbon wreath and included a basket with several crocheted Christmas characters. John Boyajian and Carlyle Noel decorated a tree as part of the Lakelands Woodworkers organization —each ornament on the tree was a hand-made wooden ornament. Many, many others donated baked goods for the bake sale and volunteered numerous hours to organize and set up the event —too numerous to mention. Looking Ahead… The ladies of Grand Harbor will again be providing 16 centerpieces for next year's luncheon and 15-20 mailbox swags for auction/sale. The main items for each centerpiece and swag have already been purchased. As you take down your holiday decorations, if you have ribbon, unbreakable ornaments, and Christmas floral picks that could be recycled or donated please contact drop them off at Patti Gagstetter's house.
