Safe Distance FellowshipWe had a special, fellowship time here when we held doorway/hallway com-

munion services. Hospice Chaplin Michael DeWitt from Spectrum Health leadthe 6 services. In each hallway we invited the residents to join us if they desired.Lilly, our Life Enrichment Aide, opened by leading singing to “The Old RuggedCross” with the residents. Then Chaplin DeWitt presented a brief message andprayer. Wrapped in more songs he presented communion individually to thosewho desired to participate, whether they were in their room or in the hallway.Doorway communion was a new experience for all of us, but it was a very pow-erful, spiritual moment.

single mom of these great children. It was thisjourney that brought me to Sheldon Meadows.

I am really a simple person. I enjoy friends, family, and yes, just being alone at times. Myhobbies are also simple. I love to work in myyard, go for walks and I love the beach, al-though I can’t swim to save my life. I love goingout to eat and have a glass of red wine.

As I said, life has not permitted me to do alot of traveling so for now I’m just fine with fre-quent trips to Boyne City, Traverse City, and ofcourse Big Rapids. These are all places where Ihave family and friends. One vacation, I did takewith my family and some friends, was to St.George Island. A very quiet location where peo-

ple are very low mainte-nance. They enjoy life inits simplest form.

Another thing I love ismusic, especially classicrock and contemporaryChristian music.

I try very hard to stayfocused on three things, which have brought methrough life. Faith, family, and friends! I’m excited tosee the good things Godhas planned for my chil-dren and of course what isplanned for me!

Thank you, SheldonMeadows, for all the greatmemories!

It is hard to believe February will mark 10years of working for Sheldon Meadows as a firstshift supervisor. I feel truly blessed to be part ofsuch a strong team. The residents and staff arelike a second family.

For those of you who do not know me, I wasborn and raised in Big Rapids, Michigan tosome pretty, fabulous parents. I was married atage 22 and moved to the Jenison area. I workedas a nurse aide at Oak Crest Manor before go-ing back to school, at age 24, to pursue an LPNlicense. It was my desire to work as a nurse. Myprimary focus being care of the elderly. My firstjob after graduation was a charge nurse at Cam-bridge Manor. I stayed at this job for two years, until another dream ofmine came true. I became amother of Aleah, my firstchild. I then began workingin Home Care to better suitmy schedule, as I had twomore children Chase andPaige. Without a doubtraising my children, whoare now young adults, hasbeen the highlight of mylife.

If there is one thing, Ihave learned on my jour-ney in the past 30 years isto never take anything forgranted. Approximately 8years ago, God threw me acurve ball, and made me a
