Special learning Week 5

Make some spice paints!

Mix spices with a little water to make your paints.

What will you paint?

Did you know that you can also make paint with teabags? Ask a grown up to help you.

Put boiling water(not too much) on your teabag just like making a very, very strong cup of tea.

Leave the teabag to soak overnight.

In the morning you will have brown paint or different colours if you use fruit teabags.

These pictures were painted using tea.

Do you know who this is?

Making bookmarks

Make a bookmark-Choose a non-fiction (factual) book to read

aloud with a parent or sibling. You can choose one of the AR books

too. On your bookmark, draw or write five new facts you have learnt from your book.

See some design ideas:

You could do your own design on the front and then write your facts on the back. Maybe if you have learnt about an animal, your bookmark could be in the shape of that animal. Be as creative as you can!

Send pictures of your lovely work. We will love to see them all!!!

Making your own board game.

As we all have been home we love to play board games as a family. During the lockdown we made our own version of the Monopoly game.

This week’s Challenge is for you to make your own board game to play with your family!

First Choose your favourite board game and play the game with your family. Look at the rules of the game, what do you need to do?

Next Design on a piece of paper your own version of the board game. For example, you can design your own game of Monopoly. You can draw your favourite toys/cartoon characters to buy in the game. What rules will you have?

Then

Collect your resources e.g. paper, pencils, colouring pens. Don’t worry if you don’t have large paper at home, you can use a cereal box and turn it over and use the inside for your board game. Make your board game and write instructions on how to play the game.

Finally enjoy playing the game with your family!
