Administrator’s Accents As our beautiful West NY summer comes to a close, we look forward with great anticipation to the fall. Not only have we planned many interesting and exciting activities for our residents, but we are eager to welcome new friends as well. In August, we opened our long-awaited, three-story addition featuring all private apartments. We continue our commitment to outstanding care and exceptional senior living, which we began in 1978. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about Heathwood or our new apartments, please feel free to contact me with any questions. Want to refer a friend? Affectionately called the “Dancing Queen” by Activities staff, Helen is a delight on the Memory Care Unit, sharing her zest for life and people. Helen worked in accounting at Blue Cross Blue Shield before her two daughters, Beverly and Barb, were born. She then held various positions in the Maryvale School System when the girls started school. Barb says her mom loves to clean and when she was raising her family, she excelled at baking and sewing. Grandmother to five and great-grandmother to five, Helen met her true love and future husband, Joseph, the day before she turned 16 at a Halloween scavenger hunt. She knew he was the one and they married in 1946, one month after he returned from serving his country during WWII. Together they raised a family, traveled, and showed their love for others through prayer, kindness, and food.
