WOMEN ONLY: Are you a “Martha” wanting
to be a “Mary”? Are you so busy with being a mom,
wife, daughter, workaholic, volunteer, etc….that
you do not make time for yourself and your spiritual life? Here’s your
chance to be a “Mary” and choose the better part. Attend the next
Women’s Cursillo Weekend. The weekend is held at Cliffview Retreat
house near Danville and begins on a Thursday evening, JULY 9th,
and ends on Sunday evening, July 12th. There is daily mass, time for
confession, reflections, talks, great food and plenty of laughter. Fr Frank
Brawner will be the spiritual director. NOW is the time to register as
space is limited. We have 5 women already registered from our parish
and several more interested. We also have 2 women from our parish
on the team. For more information, contact Donzetta Hughes at 863-494
-7268 [email protected] or Mary Elliott at 859-221-0739
[email protected]. Where ever you are on your spiritual
journey, a Cursillo weekend will bring you closer to Jesus.
RCIA HOMECOMING Since the summer of 2007, when Fr. Linh became the pastor of the Catholic community in Georgetown and Scott County, there have been more than 120 people who have entered the Church through the RCIA process. A recent parish survey seems to indicate that fully 20% of the parish has become Catholic via the RCIA route. This is an astonishing statistic. It’s time we got together to celebrate. So:
If you are an RCIA “graduate”
If you have ever been an RCIA sponsor
If you’ve ever been on an RCIA team
If you are interested in becoming Catholic
If you’re already Catholic
Then: Join us on the evening of Friday, June 19, at St. Francis Church. The evening will start with Mass at 6:00 followed by a potluck dinner. There will be music, compelling testimony from RCIA participants, and vast quantities of fellowship. We’ll get together to revisit our Easter Vigil experi-ence and look forward to where we’ll be going in the future. More details will follow, but if you have questions, contact Dan Elliott at [email protected] or (859) 221-9586
SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION FOR CRS IN NEPAL A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal in the late morning of April 25,
toppling buildings and homes, causing widespread panic, and claiming
thousands of lives. Our Church mourns the terrible suffering of our brothers
and sisters affected by this powerful earthquake. Please join with the
Catholic community across the United States in responding to our suffering
brothers and sisters through a special collection for the work of Catholic
Relief Services (CRS) in Nepal. CRS is the official humanitarian agency of
the Catholic community in the U.S. and is already responding to urgent
needs for shelter, water and food in Nepal. For more information, go to
CRS.org.

these two from our council.
REMEMBER that Friday, May 29, is Bingo Work Night for our
council. We need volunteer Knights to sell pull-tabs throughout
the evening. For more details and to sign-up, attend our next
