Nb2: use an offline-GPS app. Saves time. Leave Vancouver at 6:45am and arrive in Seattle at 9:30am. Park around Pike Place Market (85 Pike St) most places in the area of the market are similarly priced so just park somewhere. The plan is to:  Walk around Pike’s (closes at 6pm) yourself making sure to get: o "The Crumpet Shop" - Maple Butter w/ toasted walnut crumpets o  “Mee Sum Pastries” - The Hom Bows (always fresh) o “Piroshky-Piroshky” - Smoked Salmon Pate or Marzipan Roll o “Pike Place Chowder” – Clam Chowder (best ever) o “Café du France” – Crepes o “Frank’s Quality Produce” – Seasonal Fruits, delish!  Or one can sign up for a food tour: Savor, Seattle Bites (get the morning tour). These typically end around 12- 1pm leaving you time for other things.  Then find the Post Alley Gum Wall. Bring some chewing gum and stick it on the wall (don’t forget your hand sanitizer). It is located under the market and next to the Market Theatre's box office on what is called Lower Post Alley. Take a walk southwards along 1 st Ave to get to “Salumi” (309 3rd Ave S) [Closes at 4pm, closed on Mondays]. On the way stop at “Fran’s Chocolate” and try the Gray or Smoked Salt Caramels. Get to “Salumi” and order:  Pork cheek and/or Oxtail and/or Porchetta: if still available else,  Margherita w/ prosciutto  Lamb prosciutto w/ fresh mozzarella  Meatball. Take your lunch and sit outside the Seattle Public Library (1000 4 th Ave). After finishing the amazing sandwich explore the library taking the escalators up, wonderful architecture! (Nb3: yes we are skipping Pioneer square and such, personally I don’t think it is very interesting) Now go to your Car and we are gonna start exploring the North Side. First stop is Seattle Center which includes the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass (305 Harrison St) [among other museums and such], these two are the ones I find worth going to. Skip the Needle on a cloudy day. Do some exploring in the Glass Garden and after go to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (closes @5pm) for some altruistic inspiration (short 10-15 min tour). Now head further north and take a picture with the Fremont Troll (3405 Troll Ave N). If you are hungry consider “Paseo’s” (4225 Fremont Ave N) [Closed Mondays, closes at 8/9pm] for another amazing sandwich, Carribean Style. Or for a sit-down restaurant try “The Walrus and Carpenter” (4743 Ballard Ave NW). If willing to travel farther one can head to “Toulouse Petit” to try a variety of yummy dishes. Both “The Walrus and Carpenter” and “Toulouse Petit” have happy hour at 4-6pm. So if you are not too full you can have dinner earlier then head to the Fremont Troll for a picture. There is a Trader’s Joe in Fremont and one can consider some grocery shopping. If one wants they can head to Ballard Locks to explore the area, or head to Kerry Park to see Seattle at night (typically after 9pm) or take a ferry ride to Bainbridge and back and night to see Seattle from the water. Then head back home. Get back to Vancouver at midnight. Salumi Opened by Armandino Batali father of Mario Batali. Best sandwiches. Anthony Bourdain loves it.
