1 Introduction 1.1 Purpose of the document The document describes the differences of the CLS licensing process between this product (feature) and the standard

process of OpenScape License Management (see document License Guidelines).

2 Product Information 2.1 General a) Xpressions V6 is a product that can be ordered linear and configured. In case of a configured order the order has to

be activated as a whole. It is possible to expand a configured system with a linear order.

b) All configured orders for one system have the same System ID. In case of Add-On Licensing and Upgrades it is strongly recommended to search for the existing configuration using the System ID first. Doing this you get the MAC address of the existing configuration that you will have to use for the Add-On / Upgrade.

c) When doing an upgrade a configuration tool will generate and pass an upgrade order to the CLS. Only this upgrade order decides how many licenses will be available after the upgrade process on CLS. Therefore please check the license quantity of the upgrade order before doing the upgrade. If any licenses are missing please contact your logistic partner because the Licensing User Support cannot help you in this case.

d) It is possible to upgrade from earlier versions of Xpressions (V4.0 and V5). For details please see chapter 8.

e) Xpressions V6 supports a backup server. After activating the main system, you have to activate feature “Xpr V6

Main System in Backup Configuration“ onto a second MAC Address. At this point, you will be asked also

for the SIEL-ID of the main system. A second license key will be generated for this MAC Address with the same license content as the license key for the main system.

f) In case a backup server has been ordered a second license order for this system will be visible on CLS. This order will only contain the feature “Xpr V6 Backup-System”. This license order cannot be activated. The license key for

the Backup server has to be generated together with the Main system.

g) It is not possible to change the MAC address of the backup server only. For such a case you have to use Rehost. Please enter the original MAC address for the main system and the changed MAC address for the Backup server.

h) There exists an evaluation (90 days) and two demo features. These features have to be the single feature on a MAC address because they cannot be expanded. The evaluation feature will be removed when a permanent configuration is licensed on this MAC address.

i) It is possible to upgrade V6 Voice to V6 Unified licenses.

j) The user quantity (Voice + Unified + Single Fax) has a max quantity limit of 100.000 if there are only voice users. If the system contains unified of Single Fax licenses the limit is decreased to 30.000 users.

k) Feature “Xpr V6 Cluster License up to 2.000 User” and “Xpr V6 Cluster License up to 10.000

User” can be used for systems where the user quantity is less or equal to 2000 respectively 10000. If a system has

more than 10000 users the feature “Xpr V6 Cluster” is required. These rules are only checked during the first activation of the cluster features and not in case of an Add-On with more users.

l) If a configured order (with a System ID) should replace an existing evaluation license (same MAC address) please contact the User Support. Normal users cannot do such activation because an error is shown.

m) License keys for feature “Xpr V6 Product Instance for SL” are time limited although the CLS shows them

as permanent. All licenses will expire with January 31st of the following year except when generated after November 30th. In this case the expiration is extended by one additional year. For those licenses that belong to a valid contract the license keys will be deleted with November 30th. This will allow the user to regenerate the license key with the new expiration date.

n) Quantity of feature “Xpr V6 OptiClient Extensions” has to be greater or equal the quantity of feature “Xpr

V6 SAP Business ByDesign Extension”.

o) Feature “Xpr V6 Web Conferencing Rooms” and feature “Xpr V6 WebConf Server” require that either

feature “Xpr V6 Web Conferencing Basic” or “Xpr V6 Web Conferencing” exist.

p) For Web Conferencing a separate license key can be obtained to be used within a DMZ. This DMZ license key contains the Web Conferencing licenses only. If you do not need such a license key leave the additional MAC address input field for Web Conferencing empty. Please install this separate license key on a CLA within the DMZ so that the Web Conferencing servers can access it without problem. Please note that you cannot search for this additional MAC address on CLS. You have to search for the MAC address of the Xpressions system to find the Web Conferencing license key. To change the Web Conferencing MAC address please do a Rehost of the Xpressions system and change it thereby.

q) Network licensing is possible. This means that the licenses of several Xpressions V6 systems can be added to one single network license key. To add a system to such a network license key please fill the field “MAC Address of the Network CLA”. As result a license key is generated for this MAC address that contains the licenses of all systems with the same Network CLA value.

r) “Xpr V6 CTI Evaluation” and “Xpr V6 Conferencing Evaluation” require that feature “Xpr V6 Base

Pkg” exists.

s) Quantity of feature "Xpr V6 Singlenumber" has to be less or equal the quantity sum of features "Xpr V6 1

Port " + “Xpr V6 Media 1-Port”.

t) Quantity of feature "Xpr V6 VogueIVR" has to be less or equal the quantity of feature "Xpr V6 ASR V4.0".

u) Quantity of feature "Xpr V6 FODMenu" has to be less or equal half of the quantity of feature "Xpr V6 1 Port ".

v) Quantity of feature "Xpr V6 SAPPhone" has to be less or equal the quantity of feature "Xpr V6 OptiClient

Extensions ".

8 Upgrade 8.1 Upgrade V6 Voice V6 Unified It is possible to partially upgrade V6 Voice to V6 Unified features.

For this purpose the user has to activate “Xpr V6 Upgrade 1User Unified from Voice” on a MAC address where feature

“Xpr V6 Voice 1 User” already exists. As Voice quantity will be decremented and the Unified (Xpr V6 Unified 1 User)

quantity will be increased by the activated quantity.

8.2 Xpressions V4.0 OS Xpressions V6 It is possible to upgrade from Xpressions V4.0. There has to be a V4.0 system with the feature “Xpressions V4.0 Basic

Package”. The MAC Address cannot be changed during the upgrade process.

To do the upgrade an order with the following upgrade features is required:

10 FAQ 10.1 Network Licensing Do this to add Xpressions systems to a network:

• During license activation use the local Xpressions MAC address as main Locking Id (field: MAC Address). This value will be used as password to reserve licenses for this system in the network.

• Fill the field “MAC Address of Network CLA” with the MAC address of the server where the CLA will be installed that hosts the licenses.

As result an aggregated license file is generated that contains the licenses of all Xpressions. Most of the licenses will

stay reserved for the individual Xpressions system. The following licenses will be pooled and can be retrieved by any

Xpressions in the network:

Xpr V6 OptiClient Extensions

Xpr V6 Media 1-Port

Xpr V6 Audio Conferencing

10.2 Standby Server and Network Licensing As for the main system there is a second network license key that aggregates the licenses of those Xpressions systems

that have a Standby Server enabled. All these Xpressions must have entered the same MAC Address of Network

Standby CLA value.

10.3 “Xpr V6 Product Instance for SL” and Network Licensing Feature “Xpr V6 Product Instance for SL” does not support Network Licensing. Only local floating license keys

can be generated.

10.4 ERGO and T30 license With RDB#3360 the features “Xpr V6 ErgoTUI” (F31505-K13-B171) and “Xpr V6 T30” (F31505-K13-B189) are

disabled and will be removed from all certificates. Their license file content is added to other Xpressions V6 features.

“Xpr V6 Media 1-Port” and “Xpr V6 PIMG 1-Port“ will now include T30 licenses whereas “Xpr V6 Base

Pkg” now includes the ERGO license.
