Hand-applied paint finish Contemporary furniture with as much style as function

This unique collection is hand-crafted using sustainably sourced timber from

well managed forests. To achieve the furniture’s bright and appealing design

style requires the application of several coats of specially mixed paint, which

is layered onto the under frames to provide an interesting, low-sheen finish

complete with visual brush marks and imperfections.

The unpainted top surfaces are treated with a wax-like formula to enhance

the natural character of the individual reclaimed boards. This process not only

enhances the timbers appearance by focusing the splendour of the natural

grain, but also adds a resilient protective coating.

Made entirely by hand usingorganic materials the productionprocess of these ethical newproducts is an interesting one...

To ensure the raw fibre-reactive rattan is supple enough for weaving, individualreed lengths are submerged for days at a time in rain water contained in clay hollows to which various organic soilsand vegetation are added as a natural die.

This colouring method not only providesan earthen quality to this appealingfurniture but also ensures that the

harvesting for production processremains entirely eco-friendly and free of harmful chemicals or pollutants.

Using traditional methods our rattan furniture is then handcrafted by highlyexperienced artisans skilled in the art of weaving. This makes our productentirely unique with no two pieces ever created alike.

Distressed paint finishIt can truly be said that our time-worn furniture styles are crafted & finished by hand to last...

To achieve our unique distressed paint effects on either new or reclaimed timber

requires the application of several coats of both stain and paint. Our specially mixed

white paint is applied to selected furniture surfaces over the top of a patina stain,

which, once dry, is carefully removed by artisans who, over time, have perfected

this technique simply by eye. They consider the areas to remove or leave painted

in order to produce genuinely authentic looking aged furniture.
