College/Work Plans: I plan to go to New Mexico Highlands University and major in Forensic Science. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I want to give a huge thanks to my parents, especially my mommy, for always being there for me and supporting me in everything that I do, whether it is band, cheer, or giving a speech, she is always there for me and motivating me. I want to thank my brother for forcing me to be better than him and helping me achieve every single one of my goals. Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Arena for teaching me everything I know about music and for always being there to make me laugh whenever I was in a bad mood. I will miss you like crazy. Thank you for the past 5 years of fun!
Dallas Emily Blemings Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band:4 Years in Pep Band: 4 Additional Activities/Clubs: Stage Crew Favorite Quote: “To me, Fearless is not the absence of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death.” ~Taylor Swift Best Moment: The best moment in marching band would have to be when, during one of the rehearsals Pat and Tom said, "The curtains are quacking". When in reality they obviously weren't. Years In Concert Band: 3 Jazz Band: 2 Years In Jazz Chamber: 1 Years In Pep Band: 3 Years In Marching Band: 3 Instruments Played: Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Marching Bass Drum Music Related Activities: Spring Musical, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” Additional Activities/Clubs: National Honors Society, Peer Tutoring, Peer Mediation Best Moment in Marching Band: Winning Best Percussion at States in 2010 with Chris, Mason, Jake, Heather, Zeke, Zeriah, Owen, Mike, and Sam. As my first year and with perhaps my favorite drumline lineup over my three years, it was a truly magical experience. Words of Advice for Underclassmen: Always work hard for something you want. If you’re dedicated enough, then no obstacle is too tough, no hill is too high, and you will be
able to achieve things that you previously never thought possible. Keeping a good work ethic and the right attitude is key to success. Favorite Quote: “She said nothing ever happens if you don’t make it happen. And if you can’t laugh, then smile.” – Steven Wilson College/Work Plans: In the fall, I will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA studying Aerospace Engineering. While there I plan to graduate with my Bachelor’s in 4 years, and earn my Master’s the following year. Also, I plan to study abroad and take part in research opportunities with my professors. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I can honestly not put into words how much I am in debt to this program. After having Mr. Arena “convert” me from one of his “Intro to Instrumental Music” kids to a band kid, I have grown so much as a person. Being in band has introduced me to a whole new facet of music that I had never previously been exposed to. I made some of my greatest friends while in band, and strengthened friendships that already existed. But most importantly, it gave me leadership skills and the ability to be myself without really caring what others thought. For that Mr. Arena and Mr. Koenig, I thank you. I also of course have to thank my parents for always being there and supporting me, but most importantly my mom who was vastly responsible for running a lot of the band events alongside Mrs. Witten! Thanks to you all and I’ll always remember everything you did for me, regardless of where I am.
Mason Storm Mena Years in Concert Band: 3 Years in Marching Band: 3 Years in Jazz Band: 2 Years in Pit Orchestra:2 Years in Pep Band:3 Years in Rock Band: 1 Favorite Quote: "If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything. -Doc Brown (Back to the Future)" Best Moment: Hearing all the wonderful people who come out to see us perform scream when I go upside down. College/Work Plans: I will be a parkour instructor at Pinnacle Parkour while going to college for computer science. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I thank Mr. Arena for giving me a start in the music world. He taught me everything I know about music. I also want to thank Mr. Koenig for pushing my musical limits. Mr. Arena and Mr. Koenig; the music was amazing. And Brian and Laurie; the drill and color guard were incredible. It was such a privilege to be involved in the show this year. And, to the band parents; without you, none of this could have been as amazing as it was. I also would like to thank my parents, because without your $20 a week gas money contribution, Sam and I wouldn't have been able to be involved. Your support in making as many competitions as possible really means a lot. You guys have always stuck by me in that way. I also appreciate the lax in chores during the season. It definitely made life easier. These last four years has been a pleasure. Being apart of the music program at Hammonton has really been an influential part of my high school career.

We have all bonded together, despite our differences, to create an incredible family that I will never forget. I don't use this four-letter word loosely, so when I say this I mean it. I love you all, and I will miss you dearly.

Years in Concert Band: 3 Years in Marching Band: 3 Years in Jazz Band: 1 Years in Pep Band: 3 Additional Activities/Clubs: National Honor Society Favorite Quote: "Don't be afraid. unforgettable experience. College/Work Plans: I will be attending Rowan University as a Radio/TV/Film major and plan to direct films and act. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I came into band as a sophomore about to enter public school for the first time after homeschooling since kindergarten. If it weren't for the amazing friends in band who took me under their wing and made me a part of what has felt like a second family for the past 3 years, (you know who you are), the transition wouldn't have been nearly as easy as it was, and my experience wouldn't have been quite as awesome. I'd also like to thank my parents for every bit of support, guidance, and help they have provided for me in these past few insane years of high school, as well as being there to support me and cheer us on at just about every last competition and concert. Finally, thank you to Mr. Arena for so enthusiastically telling me to "JOIN BAND!" and making this whole experience so cool. It's crazy to think that a totally random meeting in the hallway one summer day saved me from what could be a very rocky three years of high school.
Morgan Bowker Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band: 5 Years in Jazz Band: 2 Years in Pep Band: 6 Years as Band Aid: 1 Additional Activities/Clubs: Vice President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and U.P. for Life Volunteer Favorite Quote: "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13) Best Moment: My best moment was when we won States my first year marching- despite the fact that I fell during the show Instruments played: Piano and Trumpet Words of advice for underclassmen: Keep your horn up. Or you'll run. A lot. College/Work Plans: I am going to go to Rowan University and major in psychology to become a guidance counselor. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I am grateful for how involved my parents were with marching band when I was in it. Their involvement demonstrates how they will always support anything I chose to do. I also greatly appreciate my sister for being the one to first introduce me to music and for always being there to help whenever I need her.
Madelyn Grace Parkhurst Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band: 3 Years in Jazz Band: 4 Favorite Quote: Smile more, think less. Best Moment: When Sam Paulson said "beautiful back!" for the very first time. Instruments played: Saxophone, Violin Leadership Positions: Music Librarian Music Related Activities: Rowan Youth Orchestra, Rowan University Orchestra Words of advice for underclassmen: Work hard, focus, but have fun! College/Work Plans: Stockton College for Physical Therapy or Nursing Words of Thanks/Appreciation: Thank you to my mom and dad for attending every competition and supporting and encouraging me through everything. Thank you to Mrs. Witten for cheering us on at every competition. Thank you to all of my friends and Jacob Massaro for making these years the most memorable years of my life.
Daniel Richard Rusciani
Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band: 5 Years in Jazz Band: 4 Years in Pep Band: 5 Additional Activities/Clubs: Diversity Club Favorite Quote: "Only a life lived for others is worth living." -‐Albert Einstein Best Moment: By far, the best moment in Marching Band came not from the victories, not from the trophies, but from my last and final performance. From the day I set foot on that field back, when I was a scrawny, fourteen year old trombone player, I always wondered, what does a perfect performance feel like? After Nationals, I finally found out, and it is impossible to dictate. My hope is that everyone feels that perfect performance at least once, because it is truly a mystique and incredible moment. Instruments played: Trombone, Tuba, Baritone, and Piano
Leadership Positions: Unofficial Brass Section Leader Music Related Activities: Select Choir, Self-‐taught pianist, and voice lessons. Words of advice for underclassmen: Keep chanting Full Metal Jacket during the warm-‐up runs, and always be proud enough for others to observe, but not too proud to bilk yourself into believing you won't make mistakes. College/Work Plans: school. From there, I will transfer my credits to a four-‐year college and eventually become a Gastroenterologist. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: Of course I want to thank my parents for motivation, love, and mostly reliable, if not parlous transportation throughout the years. They are the best parents I could ever ask for, and would not get a refund if given the opportunity. Moreover, I have Natalie, Jenny, and Leonard Rusciani, my siblings who introduced me to band, and would probably disown me if I did not follow in their footsteps. I also want to thank the Band Parents, whom without, all of us would be lost. Then there are those two knuckle heads, Mr. Arena and Mr. Koenig, who throughout the years have picked me up while I was down, threw me down again, but later would pick me back up because they realize I have been at least half of the bass section for the past five years. Honestly though, they have been very supportive and excellent instructors for all my years of marching, and very good listeners. Lastly, I want to thank Brian Law, the marcher who everyone wishes to be. He always carried with him his megaphone, drill, and most importantly a resplendent aura; more contagious than the smile he dawned. I will always have the highest respect for him as an instructor, and as a friend. Without all of these people, I would not be the person I am today, and I am proud to have them in my life!
Rachel Michelle Kopania Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band: 4 Years in Jazz Band: 1 Years in Pit Orchestra: 3 Years in Pep Band: 5 Favorite Quote: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney Best Moment: I'll always remember last year's trip to Cleveland and all of the epic times on the "Party Bus" with the crew listening to the "PartyPod" on our way to competitions. I will also never forget running laps for Mr. Koenig in the cold at 2 a.m. after States my sophomore year. Instruments played: Clarinet Music Related Activities: Select Choir, All South Jersey Wind Ensemble, All South Jersey Orchestra, All South Jersey Symphonic Band, Olympic Conference Honors Band, South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble (Side By Side), Atlantic Cape Honors Band, Pitman Summer Youth Bands, Barrington Band. Words of advice for underclassmen: Enjoy every moment of high school while you can, because it goes by really fast. Don't be afraid to try new things or do something you're not used to because you never know what's waiting for you. If you're going after something, don't let anyone keep you down or keep you from going after your dreams. Stay focused, keep your head held high, make good decisions and have fun. Also, listen to Mr. Arena...he usually knows what he's talking about! I leave the back of the Party Bus to Layne and Hoots…choose the music wisely. College/Work Plans: In the fall I will attend The College of New Jersey, where I will major in Music Education. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I hope to attend graduate school to earn my master’s degree in music. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: First, I would like to thank my mom for driving me to my private lessons since sixth grade and for never telling me to pick a “real major” for college. Dad: thank you for always keeping me in line, and for making sure I practice. To my brother Aaron: thank you for always being there for me and thank you for being the best brother ever; I can't wait to spend a semester at TCNJ with you!! To Pop Pop: thank you for always being my biggest fan; I owe it all to you. I also want to thank my entire family for their constant support throughout my musical career; without you, I would not be where I am today. A special thank you to my private teachers Mr. Dennis MacMullin, Mr. George Balog and Mr. Roger McKinney for teaching me everything I know about music, the clarinet and for all of the many opportunities that you have given me. To Rachel Schwab: thank you for always being there for me through the good and bad; you're the greatest friend ever, and I couldn't have gotten through high school without you. To the Band: you guys
are amazing, thanks for all of the great laughs and memories. Keep working hard; I’ll be back to visit! To the Band Boosters: thanks for making all of this happen and for all of the food during the marching band season. To Mr. Koenig: thanks for always listening to me rant about everything, and for always being there for me. I’ll miss you screaming "Rachel" all of the time. Finally, to Mr. Arena: although at times you drove me crazy, you were always there for me and taught me so much about music and life. I'm really going to miss you, especially how you always pick on me. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories, and for making my high school career special; it has been a real adventure!
Dennis Patrick McFerren Jr. Years in Concert Band: 4 Years in Marching Band: 1 Years in Jazz Band: 4 Years in Pep Band: 4 Additional Activities/Clubs: Track, Soccer, and Green Club Favorite Quote: "Do or do not, there is no try.” -‐Yoda, Star-‐Wars Best Moment: Walking onto retreat at states and having the honor to represent Hammonton High school along with my other peers Instruments played: Saxophone, Piano Leadership Positions: Music Related Activities: I play Christmas music for the elderly at the Fountains every year Words of advice for underclassmen: Always play out and don't be afraid of
making mistakes… we all make mistakes. P.S. That also goes for you, Mr. Arena), but it's learning from those mistakes, that progress's us as musicians College/Work Plans: I am attending Rowan this upcoming fall as Mathematics major with the intent to receive my bachelor’s degree. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: First off I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me and my involvement in music. Secondly I’d like to thank Mr. Lieby for making both band and the saxophone something that went beyond elementary school, thirdly I'd like to thank Mr. White for pushing me further into music in both concert band and jazz band, Lastly to Mr. Arena for just being him. He helped prepare me for college and made the last four years the best 4 years of jazz band I could have asked for. It is mainly due to him that makes me want to continue jazz band in college. Thank you for being my inspiration man!"

College/Work Plans: Going to ACCC for 2 years then trying to study abroad in England. Words of Thanks/Appreciation: I want to thank Mr. Arena for never giving up on this band and for always pushing us to be our best. Not only is he a great band Director, but he's also a great friend. You can go to him for advice and he will never judge you. He will simply listen to what you have to say, and then give him input. Even though I didn't like him at times, I have come to realize that he only wants us to reach our highest potentials. He doesn't want to see us end up like bums. Mr. Arena genuinely cares about all of his students. That's something not a lot of teachers posses. For that and everything else I thank him. The same goes for the rest of the staff that helped in Marching Band, and all of the Band Parents. Without them we wouldn't have gotten to where we are today.
