The summary

The Story is about augmented Spartans who are stronger than any human and alien…They are smart, fast, and brave. The Spartans are meant to fight against the alien force who are destroying humanity. They try to help fight against all the covenant but they fail to protect Reach. Reach is at the doorstep of earth and if the covenant destroy Reach, then they will most likely find earth and destroy it.

SettingThe story takes place in 2500 through 2552…The scene begins in the milky way galaxy, with several planets getting glassed ( destroyed ) by the covenant. The planet Reach and other planets have been destroyed.Billions of humans have died at this point.

Character Development

The main characters are John 117,Kelly 087,, and Sam 034.

As I read I could feel John and the others feelings and got a good sense of what they were going through. It seemed very realistic and descriptive.

Main Characters

The main characters are John 117, Kelly 087, Sam 034 and are Spartans.

Spartans are genetically altered humans. John 117 and the others were only 6 when

they were abducted by ONI ( Office of Naval Intelligence ). They became some of the toughest warriors in the galaxy and helped to defeat the covenant in this war ( Human-Covenant war ). Kelly was the fastest and Sam was the strongest. They were some of the best Spartans.

Action

There was a ton of action going on. There was lots of destruction of ships and worlds. and interesting facts about the Spartans. I think that there was a lot of action, not too little and a good amount of character development. I think it was perfect.

Reader Effect

The book made me feel sad, happy and bit angry inside. Over all I think that the book was very cool.The book kind of made me think that in life I need to work hard to succeed. The book teaches that Its not about finding the easy way out. There are going to be challenges along the way and u need to accept that and get through them. Try hard to succeed and get what ever you are striving for.

Recommendations

I think that this book is very interesting and that people who like action, suspense, science fiction, and Halo will enjoy this book.

The author ( Eric Nylund ) has other books like Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Halo : First Strike and lots of other books that don’t have to do with Halo…There are also other authors that have written Halo books.
