There are now products available that will give your hair the effect of just having bathed in the saltyocean. Look for salt sprays in the conditioning section of your favorite stores. If you desire to createyour own concoction, you can mix a teaspoon of salt and 8 ounces of water. If desired, you can alsoadd lavender oil (ten drops) for a pleasant scent and moisturizing effect.

Do not use a blow dryer too often. The intense heat from an electric dryer can and will causedamage to the hair, both the strands and the roots. Only use your blow dryer on the coolest setting,and move the dryer around your hair, rather than letting it blow on a single spot. Drying your hairwith a towel before blow drying it will make it dry faster.

An easy do-it-yourself deep-conditioning treatment can get more moisture into your hair when it'sdried out. Just wet the hair and put on a lot of your normal conditioner. Try wrapping the hair in adamp towel or even try using some plastic wrap to keep the heat in. After waiting between a halfhour and an hour, rinse out the conditioner by shampooing your hair and rinsing well.

Change things up in your shower, and use a different brand of hair product every once in a while. Byswitching up your hair care products, you might find your hair reacts more positively. You may findthat buildup that has been left behind by one brand can easily be removed by another, and yourscalp will benefit from this.

chlorine. It is also important to either wear a cap when you swim or wash and moisturize your hairimmediately following a swimming session. This will keep damage to a minimum.

When you brush your locks, always start from the bottom, working your way back up. Work throughknots in a slow and careful fashion so as to not damage your hair. You'll be able to use slow, gentlestrokes down from the roots all the way to the ends, after you get rid of the knots.
