HACU STUDENT PROGRAMS & SCHOLARSHIPS
2016 – 2017
1. HACU College Scholarship Program: The Hispanic Association of Colleges
and Universities is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to assist in defraying
some of your college expenditures. Please review each scholarship’s criteria
carefully to see if you qualify.
Deadline: 2016-2017 Competition is Open.

2. HACU Annual Conference Scholarships: HACU also has scholarships for
students to attend the Annual Conference Student Track held in the fall. HACU's
Student Track is a three day career development and networking symposium
designed to build the career skills. HACU’s 30th Annual Conference, “30 Years of
Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success" is scheduled for October 8-10,
2016, at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, San Antonio, TX. A limited number of
scholarships are available to eligible students to attend the HACU conference.
Student Track Scholarships will cover costs for: the conference registration;
travel and lodging for out-of-state students; and one conference-related meal per
day. Conference Scholarship recipients are required to attend ALL
Student Track activities.

3. Café Bustelo: El Café Del Futuro Scholarship Essay Contest- $5,000 -Full-time undergraduate or graduate students attending a four-year HACU-member institution within the United States or Puerto Rico. Students will be required to complete an 800 word essay describing how your Latino heritage, family, and the community in which you grew up have impacted your desire and motivation to obtain a college degree. Additionally, describe what you intend to accomplish with your degree and how you will give back to your community.
Application Deadline: Friday, May 27, 2016.

4. Denny’s Hungry for Education Scholarships: $1,000 – For full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students attending a two-year or four-year HACU-member institution. Students must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students will be required to complete a 500 word essay on how Denny's can impact childhood hunger in the United States. Upon notification of selection, scholarship recipients are required to submit a headshot electronically to HACU for Denny's press purposes. Application Deadline for Denny's: Friday, April 29, 2016. Supporting documents (enrollment verification form and transcript) must be postmarked no later than April 29, 2016.
