1 PurposeThe purpose of this document is to describe the general configuration steps required to manually set up the configuration within the system landscape that has already been installed using the corresponding installation or configuration guides for installation.
The Configuration Guide describes how to set up the configuration of a Building Block manually, without the support of automated configuration tools. If you want to use BC Sets and CATT procedures for an automated installation process, refer to the Building Block Installation Guide of the CO-PA.
2 Preparation
2.1 PrerequisitesThe following building blocks form the basis for all mySAP All-in-One High Tech and Industrial Machinery and Components solutions. You only have to install these building blocks once.

3 Configuration
3.1 Controlling - Profitability Analysis
3.1.1 Structures
3.1.1.1 Maintaining Value Fields
UseIn this step, you create the value fields. As well as the characteristics, the value fields are the properties of the operating concern structure.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.1.1.2 Maintaining the Operating Concern
UseIn this step, you create the operating concern ‘YDI1’. The operating concern consists of attributes and a data structure, which contains the value fields and characteristics.

There are different types of characteristics: fixed Characteristics, user-defined characteristics, characteristics from SAP tables, and characteristics from the existing field catalog. Only the PRODH characteristic from the field catalog has been assigned to the operating concern. The fixed fields listed below are used as additional characteristics.

3.1.1.3 Maintaining Characteristic Values
UseYou need to define characteristic values for the characteristic ‘PRODH’, otherwise the analysis will not work.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.1.2.1 Defining Number Ranges for Actual Postings
UseIn this step, you define the number ranges for actual line items in the CO-PA. With every actual posting in CO-PA, the SAP system automatically assigns a number within the intervals you have selected.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

Before you can make the following settings, you must have completed the step 3.2.1 ‘Assign Controlling Area to Operating Concern’.
UseIn this step, you activate the CO-PA.

3.1.2.3 Assigning Value Fields
UseThis step is not necessary for this building block but the settings should be made, for all of the processes in the Best Practices High Tech solution to run smoothly. The operating concern does not have the appropriate value fields for a satisfactory assignment to the SD-conditions. For this reason, these settings are not ideal from a microeconomic point of view.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.1.3 Planning
3.1.3.1 Defining Number Ranges for Planning Data
UseIn this step the number ranges for updating plan line items in the CO-PA are defined. In the planning process the SAP system automatically assigns a number, which lies within the selected intervals.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.1.3.2 Maintaining Versions
UseIn this step the CO-PA plan version 0 is defined. The plan version has some settings, which are only valid for the operating concern.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. Mark the Version ‘0’.
3. Double-click in the ‘Dialog Structure’ on ‘Settings in the operating concern’.

4. Confirm the message Version 000 does not exist in OpConcern YDI1. Transfer version to OpConcern? with Yes.
5. Maintain the following entries if they are not already set:

6. Make sure that the Version locked indicator is not set. Otherwise you can not process the planning data.

3.1.3.3 Setting up Planning Framework
UseIn this step the initial planning is set up. Thereby the architecture to be used in planning is specified in this step as well.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. Choose Planning levels, activate the right mouse button and choose Create planning level.

4. Change to the tab page Charact.
5. Select the following Characteristics: CO area, Company Code, Customer, Distr. channel, Plant, Prod.hierarchy, Product, Sales org.
6. Choose Column left; previous ...
7. Choose Save.
8. Choose YH89PA01, activate the right mouse button and choose Create planning package.
9. Describe the planning package both in a short (YH89PP01) and a longer (H89 Planning Package 01) version and confirm with the ENTER.
10. On the Selection tab page, maintain the following entries:

20. Give the layout both a short (YH89 01) and a longer description (YH89 Layout 01).
21. On the Charact. tab page, set the indicator in the Lead for the characteristics: Customer, Product, and Product hierarchy.
22. Select the Value flds tab page, choose Page left, and choose Save.

3.1.4 Information System
3.1.4.1 Defining Forms for Profitability Report
UseIn this step a form for our profitability report is defined. The form supplies among other things the row structure for the profitability report. This step and the two following steps are not necessary for the Building Block H37 but the result is a check-up function regarding the CO-PA bookings.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation option:

2. If you have chosen the IMG menu choose the activity Create Form.
3. Describe the form both in a short (YH89 01) and a longer version (YH89 01) and confirm with the Create.
4. double-click Column 1.
5. Confirm the selection with ENTER.
6. Select the characteristic Plan/act.ind. from the table Available characteristics and choose Move selected to left.
7. Make the entry ‘0’ in the From column.
8. Choose Confirm.
9. Double-click Column 2.
10. Confirm the selection with ENTER.
11. Make the entry ‘1’ in the From column.
12. Choose Confirm.
13. Double-click Row 1.
14. Confirm the selection with ENTER.
15. Choose Confirm.
16. Double-click Row 2.
17. Confirm the selection with ENTER.
18. Choose the value field gross turnover and Choose Confirm.
19. Double-click Row 3.
20. Confirm the appearing selection with ENTER.
21. Choose the value field discount and choose Confirm.

Procedure 1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. If you have chosen the IMG menu path choose the activity Create Profitability Report.
3. Describe the form both in a short (YH89 01) and a longer version (Profitability Report 01) and choose Report with form. Make the entry ‘YH89 01’ in the form field and confirm with the Create.
4. Select the characteristics Fiscal year, Period, Customer, Plant, Prod.hierarchy, Product and Sales org. from the table Char. lis’ and choose Add. Char.
5. Set the indicator Variable on/off for the characteristic Fiscal Year and select the Global variable ‘GJAHR’, and choose ENTER.
6. Set the indicator Variable on/off for the characteristic Period and select the Global variable ‘PERIOD’, and choose ENTER.
7. On the tab page OutputType, choose Classic drilldown and for Basic list: Detail.
8. On the tab page Options, choose Execute report in the section Reaction if no presummarized data exists.
9. Choose Save.
3.2 Enterprise Structure
3.2.1 Activating Costing Based Profitability Analysis for Controlling Area
UseIn this step the controlling area is activated with cost based profit analysis.
The settings are installed with a BC Set on an automatic way.
