MATERIALS HANDLING AND STORAGEUnless noted otherwise material, fixtures and fittings are to behandled, stored and installed in accordance with the Manufacturer’scurrent written instructions.
The building is to be constructed in accordance with the National Construction Code of Australia (NCC 2016) andall relevant Australian Standards and with particular regard to the following:
1. Structure is to comply with NCC 2016 Part B1.2. Masonry construction is to comply with NCC 2016 AS 3700 – 2011.3. Steel structures are to comply with clause AS 4100 – 19984. Composite steel and concrete is to comply with AS 2327.1-2003.5. Aluminium construction is to comply with AS/NZS 1664.1-1997 Amdt 1: 1999 or AS/NZS 1664.2-1997 Amdt1:19996. Timber construction is to comply with clause AS 1720.1 – 2010 Amdt 1 & 2, & AS 1684.2 – 2013 Amdt 1, AS1684.3 – 2010 Amdt 1 or AS 1684.4 – 2010 Amdt 1.7. Glazing assemblies are to comply with NCC 2016 clause B1.4 & F1.13, AS 2047-2014 and AS 1288-2006Amdt 1 & 2.8. Termite risk management is to comply with NCC 2016 clause B1.4 & AS 3660.1 – 2014.9. Metal roofing is to comply with AS 1562.1 – 1992 Amdt 1, 2 & 3.10. Lift shafts which are not required to have an FRL are to comply with NCC 2016 clause B1.4 (m).11. Lightweight construction is to comply with NCC 2016 clause C1.8 and Spec C1.8.12. Fire hazard properties of linings, materials and assemblies are to comply with NCC 2016 Clause C1.10 andSpec C1.10.13. Enclosure of shafts is to comply with NCC 2016 Spec C2.10.14. Building elements required to have an FRL shall be designed to comply with NCC 2016 Specification C1.1 asapplicable to Type B C construction and Spec A2.3.15. Flooring and floor framing of lift pits must be non-combustible. (Type A & B)16. Roof lights are designed in accordance with NCC 2016 Spec C1.1 Clause 3.6.17. Fire separation of main switchboard that sustains emergency equipment, in accordance with NCC 2016 ClauseC2.13.18. Fire doors must comply with NCC 2016 Spec C3.4 and AS/NZS 1905.1 – 2015.19. Openings in shafts protected in accordance with NCC 2016 Clause C3.13. Service penetrations in fire ratedconstruction are to be protected in accordance with NCC 2016 C3.12, C3.15 & Spec C3.15, AS1530.4-2014 & AS4072.1-2005 (R2016)20. Openings for services that penetrate a building element that is required to have an FRL in respect to integrityor insulation or a resistance to the incipient spread of fire shall be protected in accordance with NCC 2016 clauseC3.15.21. Installation in exits and paths of travel are to comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.7 – All telecommunication andelectrical cupboards are to be installed with non-combustible backings on the doorway and smoke seals installedto all door leaves. All services which penetrate the cupboard have been smoke sealed to prevent the free passageof smoke.22. Cupboards or storerooms below non-fire isolated stairs are to be enclosed in fire rated construction inaccordance with NCC 2016 Clause C2.8.23. Pedestrian ramps are to comply with NCC 2016 D2.9 and where serving as an accessible ramp, must complywith AS1428.1-2009 Amdt 1 2010.24. The floor surface of ramps, treads/nosings of stairways and landings are to have a slip resistance classificationnot less than that listed in NCC 2016 Table D2.14.25. All going & risers of stairways are to comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.13.26. All landings to comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.14.27. Restriction on placement of steps or ramps at door thresholds to be in accordance with NCC 2016 ClauseD2.15. Thresholds steps where permitted are to be no greater than 190mm in accordance with Clause D2.15 (nogreater than 50 mm in Class 9b entertainment venue).28. Balustrades are to be provided and shall comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.16.29. Handrails are to be provided where required and shall comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.17 Clause 12 ofAS1429.1-2009 Amdt 1.30. Doorways and doors are to comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.19 and D2.20.31. Operation of door latches is to comply with NCC 2016 Clause D2.21.32. Access for people with disabilities is to comply with NCC 2016 clauses D3.1, D3.2, D3.3, D3.5 carparking D3.6signage, D3.7 hearing, D3.8 Tactiles , D3.9 seating, D3.10 Swimming pools. D3.11 ramps and D3.12 glazing andAS 1428.1 – 2009 Amdt 1.33. Signage for people with disabilities in accordance with BCA 2014 D3.6, Spec D3.6 and AS1428.1-2009 Amdt 134. Tactile indicators to be provided in accordance with BCA 2014 Clause D3.8 and AS/NZS 1428.4.1-2009 Amdt1.35. Marking of glazing in accordance with BCA 2014 D3.12, and AS 1428.1- 2009 Amdt 2 2014.36. Existing fire hydrants to provide coverage to the new layout in accordance with NCC 2016 Clause E1.3 and AS2419.1 – 2005 Amdt 1 2007.37. Existing fire hose reels to provide coverage to the new layout in accordance with NCC 2016 E1.4 and AS2441-2005 Amdt 1 2009. Fire hose reels to be located within 4m of the exit.38. Existing sprinklers to be modified to suite new layout in accordance with current fire safety schedule.39. Portable fire extinguishers to comply with NCC 2016 Clause E1.6 and AS 2444-2001.40. Miscellaneous air-handling systems covered by Sections 5 (miscellaneous) and 11(Kitchen hood exhaust ) ofAS/NZS 1668.1 2015 serving more than one fire compartment (other than a carpark ventilation system) and notforming part of a smoke hazard management system must comply with that Section of the Standard.41. Passenger lifts are to comply with NCC 2016 Clauses E3.1, Specification E1.3 E3.6, Table E3.6a, Table E3.6b,E3.7, E3.8, E3.9, E.10 & AS1735. AS 1735.11-1986 & AS 1735.1-2016.42. Signs warning against use of lifts are to comply with NCC 2016 Clause E3.3.43. All applicable fire services to be altered to suit new layout in accordance with appropriate AustralianStandards.44. Emergency lighting is to comply with NCC 2016 Clause E4.2, E4.3, E4.4 and AS 2293.1-2005 Amdt 1 2008.45. SECTION 96110-112 ADDISON ROAD, MARRICKVILLE
STRUCTURE Foundations, footings, reinforced concrete, slabs, retainingwalls, framing, bracing, tie-down and other structural elementsare to be designed and constructed in accordance with theStructural Engineer’s details and specifications.
HYDRAULICSStormwater drainage, waste water drainage, fresh water, gassupply and other hydraulic services are to be designed andconstructed in accordance with the Local Authority, StatutoryAuthority, Hydraulic and/or Civil Works Consultant’srequirements.
EROSION & SEDIMENT CONTROLApply erosion and sediment control measures in accordancewith the Local Authority and, where applicable, Hydraulic or CivilWorks Consultant’s requirements to avoid erosion,sedimentation and/or contamination of the site, surrounds andstormwater drainage system. Apply measures to ensure that thesite remains free of water and to prevent water flow over the newwork. Erosion & sediment control measures are to be effectivefrom commencement of the works (including demolition) andmaintained throughout the course of the works until the site isfully stabilised.
SERVICES (EXISTING & PROPOSED)Confirm location of existing under and above-ground servicesand coordinate with the relevant service authority to ensure thatservices are handled in accordance with the relevant authoritiesinstructions prior to commencement of demolition, excavationand/or construction works.
LEVELSLevels shown are consistent with the datum and benchmarksshown on the associated detail survey. In most instances thesurveyed levels will be indicated relative to Australian HeightDatum. However the existing site levels and datum are to beconfirmed on site with the reference to the site surveydocuments.
FALLSFinish surfaces typically to fall as required to facilitate effectivedrainage.
