HUNGARICUMS A hungaricum is something unique, speciality
that is peculiar to Hungary.
GOULASH
Goulash is a soup or stew of pork and
beef, noodles and vegetables, seasoned with pepper and other spices.
PEPPER
Pepper is a spice made from ground, dried fruits of Capsicum annuum, either bell pepper or chilipepper varieties or mixtures. In Hungary the most famous spice pepper is from Szeged region.
TÚRÓ RUDI
Túró Rudi is the name of a cold chocolate bar popular in Hungary. The bar is composed of a thin outer coating of chocolate and an inner filling of sweet curd.
PULI
Puli is a small-medium breed of Hungarian herding and livestock guarding dog known for its long, curly black or white fur.
SALAMI
Salami is cured sausage, fermented and air-dried meat, originating from one or a variety of animals. For example: Pick salami from Szeged.
WINE
Tokaji is the Hungarian form for the name of the wines from the Tokaj wine region in Hungary.
TRADITIONAL COSTUMES
Hungarian people wore different traditional clothes in different regions.
They have rich embroidery and a lot of skirts for women and black trousers and boots for men.
FOLK MUSIC
Folk music includes both traditional music and the genre that evolved from it during the 20th century folk revival. The most common instruments: violin, citera, double bass.
FOLK DANCE
Every natonality and region has got particular dances with common neme ‘Folk dance’. The most popular Hungarian dances: Kalocsai, Mezőségi, Szatmári.

Kalocsa is famous for the bright coloured flower patterned hand made embroidery.
PORCELAIN Herend Porcelain
Manufactory is a Hungarian company, specializing in luxury hand painted and gilded porcelain. You can buy this porcelain in Mark & Spencer’s in London. Even the British Royal family use it.

DÁNIEL GYURTA
Hungarian swimmer.
He was only 15 years old when he won a silver medal in the men's 200m breaststroke at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games.

They won 15 Olympic, 10 World Championship, 5 FINA World League, 8 FINA World Cup and 21 European Championship medals.

She won her first medal at the 2004 European Short Course Championships, a bronze in 400m medley.
