2. Name the video, browse to where the video should be stored locally, Click Save

3. When the Upload Files dialog box appears, verify that the Upload Destination is to your local GXP Xplorer; If it is not, click the Edit Destination to create a new GXP Xplorer destination; Click Upload

4. Log in to GXP Xplorer to complete the upload

Terrain Generation Using Streaming Imagery



Automatic Terrain Generation (ATG)• SOCET GXP uses one of three algorithms to generate

DTMs:• Automatic Terrain Extraction (ATE) • Next Generation Automatic Terrain Extraction

(NGATE)• Automatic Spatial Modeler (ASM)

• All algorithms require at least two images with an overlap region

• Use with one or more stereo pairs• Images do not have to be viewed in stereo• Should be accurately triangulated



ATE vs. NGATE• NGATE performs image correlation and edge matching on each image pixel

• Processing time proportional to the number of pixels to process, not the number of posts

• You can control NGATE speed by using different Precision/Speed options• Capable of making DTMs as dense as ~3X the image GSD• The most significant advantage of using NGATE over ATE is for difficult areas such as

large scale imagery in urban areas• Almost always produces more accurate DTM than ATE• NGATE DTMs in general require a lot less editing

• ATE performs image correlation on each post• Speed of process controlled by using a large post spacing to

reduce the number of posts• More Posts = More Processing Time

• Capable of producing DTMs as dense as ~15X the image GSD• Best used for producing low density DTMs over rural and other

non-developed areas



Automatic Spatial Modeler (ASM)• Automatic Spatial Modeler, is used to extract dense 3-D point

clouds, accurate building edges and corners• Requires stereo images with high resolution, large overlaps,

and high dynamic range • Images must be triangulated and free of Y-parallax

• ASM runs on Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) for accuracy• A NVIDIA K6000 graphic card or better is recommended• ASM may be run in CPU mode when a GPU graphic card is

not available • ASM runs several times faster on GPUs than on CPUs



ASM Strategies• ASM uses one of three Strategy approaches:

• Normal Job CPU processing• Split Job CPU processing• Nvidia Cuda GPU processing

• Eleven (11) Different Strategies• asm.strategy - General purpose use• asm_UAV.strategy - UAV data use• asm_fast.strategy - Quick correlation use• asm_radarsat.strategy - SAR/low contrast use• asm_radarsat_CPU.strategy - SAR/low contrast split CPU use• asm_rural.strategy - Relatively flat terrain area• asm_rural_steep.strategy - Mountainous terrain area• asm_rural_steep_CPU.strategy - Split CPU mountainous terrain• asm_urban.strategy - Urban areas with tall buildings• asm_urban_CPU.strategy - Split CPU urban areas with tall

buildings• asm_urban_cuda.strategy - GPU cuda urban areas with tall

• Text is only guaranteed to line up if the template size matches the PowerPoint slide size

• Option to display a disappearing warning message when the template and slide size do not match

• Export Notes to PowerPoint allows users to toggle off the exporting of notes into the metadata of PowerPoints created in SOCET GXP

• Choose specific information to be included in the notes section
