Robert was a popular American explorer.

He was brave and he was curious.

A long, long time ago he traveled to far-off lands,

and arrived in a place

where people talked in the past.

They said, “We talked and walked and cooked.

We studied and tried to be good.

We never stopped or dropped the ball.

We planted seeds in daylight

and enjoyed the moon at night.”

Robert was very surprised

How can these people talk only in the past?

He soon discovered the rules

and stayed there for a long time.

He lived a happy life, he married and worked hard,

always talking in the past.
