One of the first text conversations I had while at Guyton Christian was with Nancy about a cook out with the kids. We were going to do some games, play outside and grill out burgers. We had almost every- thing we needed, but I wasn’t sure who was going to grill – because I am certainly not a grill master! I texted Nancy “Who’s gonna grill burgers?” Nancy responded, “Trouble is cooking the burgers.” I was con- fused. I texted back, “What’s the trouble with cooking burgers? We can’t find someone to do it???” She again replied, “No, Trouble is cookin.” We did this for a couple more minutes. I sat at the Rock and rattled my brain to solve this mystery. It finally hit me that Michael Bodnar, or Trouble, was cooking the burgers! Adam and I have had a lot of fun memories like this at Guyton and as we pack up to move, we will also pack up those memories to take with us. I have taken a children’s ministry position at a church in north Georgia, closer to Atlanta. It will be better for my family and for Adam to continue his education. Since Adam’s travel time to class will be cut immensely, it will give us more time together. We are excited as we look forward to the future, but I will greatly miss all the friends I have made and all of the kids I have grown to love. I have learned so many things while here at Guyton Christian. I have learned the ins and outs of commit- tees and Board meetings. I discovered that I am a list person! Especially partnered with Becky Malcom, Ed- ucation Chair, I have learned more about work ethic, comradery, team work, endurance, organization, deadlines, and zeal more than I think I’ll ever learn from any classroom. The CYF group not only taught me how to dab, how not to throw shade and what “being lit” means, they also taught me about acceptance, community and compassion. I pray that the craving for God paired with their work ethic serves as a catalyst for their personal spiritual growth. I feel confident that the CYF group will bless any who may cross their paths, at their age right now and as they grow into young adults. (Remember 1 Timothy 4:12?!) I could write a book series on the memories I’ve gained, the lessons I’ve learned and the friends I’ve made while here at Guyton Christian. Sometimes, words cannot describe my feelings towards a congregation, but I’ve found that Philippians 1:1-11 will do quite nicely. (With my own added emphasis, of course!) “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.” So much love and many more blessings, Georgia Peeler

The Soul with Sunny Heart God bless the soul with sunny heart

Who brightens up each day By spreading seeds of cheerfulness

While traveling on life’s way. God bless him for the stars of hope

He sets in each one’s sky; For the encouragement he gives

That causes folk to try… With stronger faith to press ahead,

With courage for a mate, And reach for goals, and build anew,

And smile and challenge fate. God bless his laughter and his song

That drives dark clouds away From troubled minds, and paints instead

A rosy-tinted day. God bless the soul with sunny heart

Who’s found in life his place, And serves his God and fellow man

With humble, gentle grace. The world has need of such a man

Who lifts the heart from gloom, And in life’s barren places plants Sweet flowers of love to bloom.

He may serve as some men serve With fame or high degree…

But his good deeds will ever shine Throughout eternity.
