1. ARE YOUR FAN MOTORS PROTECTED

FROM OVERHEATING?

What are you used to?You are used to NEMA motors withoutmotor protection or motors with anintegrated Klixon, within the junctionbox, with a delayed-action thermalresponse time.

What’s new with Guntner units featuring Ziehl-Abegg fans? These fans are external rotor motorswith thermal contacts that are cast inthe winding. Precise winding tempera-ture is monitored and reliably avoidsdestructive overheating. The cut-outtemperature is determined by the per-missible maximum temperature of themotor.

Thermal contacts cast inthe winding…

The cast thermal contacts are connec-ted to the motor terminal block andmust be connected to the electricpower supply in accordance with theschematic at the right. It is preferable to include a manual re-set switch as shown in the schematic.Without this manual re-set interlock themotor would switch on and off con-tinuously, ultimately destroying themotor. This start – stop action in theevent of overheating cannot be avoidedin motors with an auto re-set protectiondevice.

HOW TO WIRE THE CONTROL CIRCUIT:

THE GUNTNER MOTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM MEANS PROTECTION OF YOUR INVESTMENT.

No problem! The Guntner units featurea protection class in accordance withTEAO – totally enclosed air over. Thismeans that the Ziehl-Abegg externalrotor motor fans are sealed with alabyrinth seal impeding the ingress ofsplash water. Moreover, condensationwater can drain off through drain holes.

2. ARE YOU CLEANING

YOUR EVAPORATORS/CONDENSERS

WITH WATER OR STEAM?

3. DO YOUR EVAPORATORS/

CONDENSERS RUN SMOOTHLY

AND OPERATE SAFELY?

You are used to NEMA motors andimpellers that are manufactured bydifferent firms. The outcome of this isthat the two components are notbalanced together. In Guntner units with Ziehl-Abegg fans, this is not the case. Because of theexternal rotor assembly, the impellerand rotor form one complete unit andare perfectly balanced as such. The illustration opposite shows thetwo-plane balancing for a Ziehl-Abeggfan in the factory.

Specifications pertaining to lowernoise levels usually require lowerrpm motors resulting in reducedairflow and capacity.Guntner units with Ziehl-Abeggfans are clearly less noisy at com-parable rpm’s, as shown in thetable opposite.

4. DO NOISE LEVELS

PLAY A ROLE?

Innovative fan technology facilitates less noisy condensers/drycoolers at the same/comparable rotational speed

Clearly lower sound pressure levels with same condenser heat

A comparison of the noise levels and associated con-denser capacities show that Guntner units with Ziehl-Abegg fans have lower noise levels and generally covera wider range of condenser capacity.

The proven coil design of the MBK, MGBK and MABK offersthe lowest noise and most gentle air movement for processingroom application with Ziehl-Abegg fans.

Ziehl-Abegg has been developing motors since 1910,and Guntner has been developing finned heat ex-changers since 1932. This partnership and sharedexperience has produced sophisticated and technicallyadvanced top-quality solutions. Innovative concepts, technically proven, demonstrate our commitment tooffer you and your customer the best technology for theapplication.
