1) Communication: a) Lacked: Because of the language barrier Hunt had a problem to find the right place

which he was finding for Azzan Motors in Japan.b) Had: because Hiunt was the only person communicating with the labourer and was able

to convince them.

2) Team Spirit:a) Lacked: When the target of 15000 cars was given in a month and when people found

out that no deal is made below that their team spirit reduced and they stopped working.b) Had: Hunt tries to relate to the people and tells them about the High School Basket Ball

Championship which relates to them and their team spirit is developed to work in Assan Motors.

3) Presentation:a) Lacked: Presentation was lacking because he was unable to communicate properly in

Japan.b) Had: Even with the difference in Cultures Hunt was able to convince the Japanese

people to open their production plant in USA. Though being his presentation being very casual they were pleased by the way he took the whole thing.

4) Family values:a) Lacked: The work is considered more important than family in Japan so even when there

was his sons birthday he had no time to build up a cycle for him as he had lots of work piled up.

b) Had: As the men sit down for meeting the ladies in the family stood up and went to work inside. This was when hunt came to have lunch at the house of the Japanese family.

5) Cross Culture:a) Lacked: The people when landed from Japan to USA had red carpets laid down for them

so they took off their shoes and walked on it. b) Had: Acceptability of those peoples culture is shown when while welcoming people in

USA also removed their shoes.6) Body Language:

a) Lacked: Never sit very casually in a meeting. Like stretching your hands back to your head. It shows lack of interest in the topic discussed.

b) Had: Japanese people have a very strong sense of body language. They never keep their hands in their pockets which shows the casual approach, like hunt did many of the times while talking with them.

7) Business Dressing:a) Lacked: While coming to a meeting its compulsory to wear a formal shirt with a blazer

and formal pants and shoes. You don’t enter a meeting with leather jacket and a colourful t shirt.

b) Had: From the very first day Japanese people were wearing the complete formals and this is in them.

8) Business Etiquette:a) Lacked: Different cultures have different business etiquettes. Americans shake hands

when they meet Japanese people don’t. b) Had:

9) Empathy:a) Lacked: Japanese people are very strict to their work and don’t think of the people while

Americans think of the others that was depicted in the movie the same thing when helped by that Japanese guy for his team mate, the other guy refused and started doing his job.

b) Had: When Hunt fought for his friend when her wife was in labour, this shows a sense of caring and understanding that no matter the work family comes first.

10) Leadership Skills:a) Lacked: People understand the language when said in their own home town terms.

When guys from different parts came and explained labour laws and stuff nobody understood.

b) Had: At the very same time when hunt gave the example of basket ball championship that happened people could relate to it and they got the point what he was trying to make. That is real leadership quality.

11) Motivation:a) Lacked: When hunt told the truth about the 15000 cars or no raise, people got really de

motivated as that was a target that was almost impossible to achieve. b) Had : But when Hunt and the other Japanese guy started making cars alone people got

motivated as both of them were working hard to achieve their target and just standing there would yield them nothing.
