GUJARAT TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY ORGANIZED VISIT TO GUJARAT VIDHANSABHA

16thMarch 2016, Wednesday

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has coordinated with the Education Department,

Government of Gujarat to allow GTU students and faculty members to visit the live sessions of

Gujarat Vidhansabha and to have interaction with the Minister of Education and Honorable

Chief Minister of Gujarat.

G. K. Bharad Institute of Engineering has taken this opportunity given by GTU to arrange visit

of Gujarat Vidhansabha on Wednesday 16th March, 2016. Six faculty members were appointed

as coordinators for this visit and 156 students from various branches participated in this visit. We

reached Vidhansabha, Gandhinagar at 11:15 am.

The Gujarat Vidhansabha comprises of huge campus whose greenery and infrastructure make a

common man astonished with its beauty. Every person is disciplined and performing the duty in

his/her accord. The flag along with statue of The Father of Nation (Mahatma Gandhi) make

everyone feeling proud towards nation with feeling of patriotism

After certain security check, we were led by Dr. Manish Rachchh, AssociateProfessor, GTU,

chief coordinators for Vidhansabha visit, he coordinated this visit in very fabulous manner.

There was a live session at Vidhansabha which may be a very rare opportunity for any person,

when we enter in Vidhansabha visitor lounge, there was a discussion regarding “Mahashivratri

bhang poisoning” issue, all political parties were debating on whether bhang is distributed in

public or not. The reason behind this debate was due to “bhang poisoning” several deaths occur

including one Police Inspector.

Also we saw budget passing/polling process. Till now we saw Vidhansabha on TV or on internet

but due to GTU’s kind effort, our students and faculty coordinators became fortunate to see this

process live.

After live session we got chance to interaction with our Honorable Chief Minister Smt.

Anandiben Patel, after that there is group photo session with Honorable Chief Minister which

was very exciting moment for all of us.

After taking lunch, there was a visit of “DandiKutir” which is a latest Audio Visual Collection of

Mahatma Gandhi Bapu.We are again thankful to Dr. Manish Rachchh Associate Professor, GTU

and Mr. Rudra Coordinator at Mahatma Mandir for make “DandiKutir” visit successful.

The visit was pleasurable, informative, interesting and successful for the students and faculties

which gave them a lot of pleasure, learning and will help them in future to a great extent.

Feedback

Students experienced sitting in the public gallery of the Legislative Assembly and viewed the

structure and the ambience of the grand Hall. The resource person at the venue gave a lot of

important and detailed information regarding the working of the Legislative Assembly, how the

proposals and bills become laws, the protocol and many other details. Students asked many

intelligent questions regarding Legislative Assembly, MLAs and their working and built upon

their knowledge further more. They were impressed and enthralled with the grandeur and

sovereignty of the House. Students also took the opportunity to Photo session with Honorable

Chief Minister of Smt. Anandiben Patel and Smt. Vasuben Trivedi, and saw how the ministers

work in close association with the Government officers. This trip made the students realize that

Civics as a subject is not dull and monotonous, but interesting and useful. It was a memorable

and fruitful trip as the learning was immense.

Vidhansabha visit Heading our way towards Gujarat Legislative Assembly was a truly great

experience in spite of being there of about hardly 10 min. we had learned a lot like how the

elective members were dealing with the Honorable Speaker for keeping their point and

visualized every minute details of that assembly hall.

The experience of Legislative Assembly the Mahatma Mandir Trip was awesome. Every detail

ofthe Mahatma Gandhi’s life was perfectly crafted and picturised in the combination of

animation and posters which were putting a great impact to his life’s achievements and his

autobiography.

The visit for the Gujarat Vidhansabha – Gandhinagar has the great importance in terms of

student’s knowledge about the political views. By watching the live session of the Vidhansabha,

we were made aware about the procedure of all the political activities of Vidhansabha.
