First 5 minutes candidate was asked to give brief introduction. Frequency of questions from one’s trainings and projects was more. Interview was purely technical based. No HR questions were asked. Question bank: 1. Different types of pumps, valves, compressors- their parts, functions and characteristic curves. 2. State Bernoulli’s equation and its applications. Also describe how it affects the functioning of pumps. 3. Define PPID, PID (Course: Instrumentation and Process Control). 4. Difference between a pump, a compressor and a blower. 5. Working principle of cooling tower, distillation column and define reflux ratio. 6. How to decide the boiling point of a mixture when vapor pressure or partial pressure is given. 7. How does boiling point vary with pressure? 8. Define Boiling point. How does it vary with height? 9. Define C p . Differentiate between latent heat and specific heat. 10. List all the safety instructions in an industry. 11. How to control Pressure and Temperature in an industrial plant? 12. Differentiate between unit operations and unit processes. 13. First 5 minutes candidate was asked to give brief introduction. Frequency of questions from one’s trainings and projects was more. Interview was purely technical based. No HR questions were asked.

Question bank:

1. Different types of pumps, valves, compressors- their parts, functions and characteristic curves.

2. State Bernoulli’s equation and its applications. Also describe how it affects the functioning of pumps.

3. Define PPID, PID (Course: Instrumentation and Process Control).4. Difference between a pump, a compressor and a blower.5. Working principle of cooling tower, distillation column and define reflux ratio.6. How to decide the boiling point of a mixture when vapor pressure or partial pressure is

given.7. How does boiling point vary with pressure?8. Define Boiling point. How does it vary with height?9. Define Cp. Differentiate between latent heat and specific heat.10. List all the safety instructions in an industry.11. How to control Pressure and Temperature in an industrial plant?12. Differentiate between unit operations and unit processes. 13. What is stripping process?14. What happens at shut off head when positive displacement pump is installed?15. VLE data questions.16. How many computer courses have you been trained with ? 17. Will the whistle blow on an empty cooker?18. What is corrosion? How to prevent it and state basic corrosion reactions.

(For someone who had corrosion as elective).

Personal Observation: Mostly fundamentals of a candidate were put to test. So it’s advisable for students to focus more on basics.

Same Questions were asked more or less to every candidate with very little variation.
