GUIDO  MAGAZINE

Translation  :    Theater  training,  Raphaël  Charlier  was  soon  immersed  in  the  world  of  TV.  After  a  few  appearances  ICI  Bla  Bla,  he  ended  the  presentation  Cybercafe.  Since  April  1,  he  is  in  command  of  10-‐13  hours  on  Pure  FM,  the  new  radio  to  replace  Radio  21,  devoted  to  15-‐35  years.      Flashback  to  his  curriculum.      GUIDO:  You  did  your  studies  at  IAD  in  theater  section.  What  motivated  this  choice?    Raphael:  What  caused  me  many  problems  in  school,  is  that  I  already  know  where  I  wanted  to  go  and  so  some  courses  do  not  interest  me  at  all  know.  I  do  not  care  anything  because  I  really  know  in  my  heart  that  they  would  no  longer  serve  me  later.  I  knew  early  on  that  I  wanted  to  be  an  actor.  I  passed  the  entrance  examination  of  the  IAD  without  problems  and  selection  late  in  the  first.  It  is  now  two  years  since  I  left  but  I  still  make  my  memory!      GUIDO:  So  you  wanted  to  direct  you  to  the  theater  ...    Raphael  Rather  cinema,  radio  and  television  that  have  always  attracted  me.  I  just  wanted  to  see  if  I  was  done  for  the  theater  or  not.  I  realized  at  IAD  that  I  was  not  really  made  for  the  theater.  I  felt  it  was  not  really  my  thing.  I  was  part  of  a  gang,  the  Panach'Club,  with  whom  we  set  up  a  play  I  have  not  played  since  the  resumption  of  this  year  because  of  the  time  it  takes  me  on  TV.  I  really  enjoyed  writing  it,  to  see  it,  but  I  had  less  passion  to  play.  I  did  not  feel  like  something  different  every  night.  We  can  easily  repair  a  carburetor  jalopy  even  if  it  makes  you  shit,  but  you  can  not  lie  to  the  public,  once  on  stage.      GUIDO:  Now  you're  so  completely  invested  in  broadcasting?    Raphael:  After  a  few  shows  here  Bla  Bla,  I  did  the  casting  for  café  and  I  will  be  part  of  the  new  Radio,  Pure  FM,  starting  April  1,  from  10  to  13  hours.  My  goal's  still  the  film,  although  I  play  very  well  in  TV  and  radio.  I  feel  that  theater,  it's  not  something  I  do  now.  I  take  an  incredible  pleasure  to  see  my  friends  play  while  I  did  not  take  this  pleasure  to  play  myself.      GUIDO:  Do  you  think  your  education  at  IAD  have  given  you  a  good  education?    Raphael:  In  my  opinion,  these  studies  are  not  sufficiently  directed  to  the  cinema.  The  IAD  was  nevertheless  a  very  good  school.  I  missed  so  much  during  my  high  school,  I  dragged  the  leg.  Yet  I  am  one  of  the  few  in  my  class  to  have  done  my  studies  at  once.  Like  what!      GUIDO:  So  you've  done  your  studies  in  Louvain-‐la-‐Neuve.    Raphael:  I've  never  really  acclimated  to  Louvain-‐la-‐Neuve.  That's  why  I  came  to  live  in  Brussels.  I'm  not  very  "circles  of  students,"  I  tried  but  I  have  worked  in  the  world  of  the  night  early,  I  quickly  saw  the  stuffed  dead  guys  and  it  did  not  made  me  want  drinking.  I  like  to  party,  but  between  friends.  I  was  often  in  the  cafeteria  of  course  Sports  Center  Blocry,  as  had  the  majority  of  our  courses  in  the  area.      GUIDO:  Do  not  you  think  that  the  IAD  is  still  studying  "apart"  on  the  Louvain-‐la-‐Neuve?

GUIDO  MAGAZINE

Raphael:  I  agree.  The  IAD  is  already  off  center  in  the  city.  If  I  had  a  complaint  to  make  to  theater  students  is  not  enough  to  mingle  with  other  students.  I  got  a  lot  of  friends  in  other  sections  of  the  DST,  as  realization  for  example.
