Guidelines for Your Research Project on
KING TUT’S DEATH MASK This assignment is designed to help you become familiar with important historical artifacts,
architecture, and technological achievements. You will research and construct a presentation for
the class. The medium of the presentation is your choice, but subject to Mr. Gulle’s approval. In
the past, students have done homemade educational films, costumed in-class skits, puppet shows,
songs, scale models, and many other kinds of presentations. Be creative. Use your natural talent
as a means of educating your classmates and yourself. Remember: If You Can Do It, You Can Do
It!
Your finished product should conclusively demonstrate that you have an understanding of the
following:
Purpose and Uses o What was King Tut’s death mask? What was it used for?
Description o What is it made of?
o What are its dimensions, including its weight?
o Include illustrations
How is the Death Mask representative of Ancient Egyptian culture and values? o The snake and bird above the king’s eyes
o The false beard
Today o Where is King Tut’s Death Mask today?
o Recently the beard broke off of the mask. What happened?
Anything else you want to share!
