WHAT IS REQUIRED?

Cornell Notes for English on the poems or short story in the book for your author / poet. These must be complete and accurate. - 25% of the grade.

Looking for the literary terms to show up in the Cornell Notes. These are some of the things you should notice as you read.

What should be in the power-point?

a. Background of the author / poet - Personal biography of their life

b. Major worksc. Influences on the author / poet -

What writers, poets, artists, music or thoughts helped to make them the writer they became?

d. How they influenced later writers / poets. What writers came after them and followed their style or were inspired by them?

e. Historical background, time-period, setting - What was going on in the world during the time the author / poet was alive and writing?

FORMATING

SLIDES SHOULD HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF BULLETS OF INFORMATION AND INCLUDE VISUALS AND OR SOUND TO KEEP IT INTERESTING. YOU MAY BRING A VIDEO CLIP, BUT IT CANNOT BE MORE THAN 5 MINUTES.

READING PASSAGE

YOU MUST READ A PASSAGE OR A POEM AND EXPLAIN WHAT THE PASSAGE OR POEM TELLS US ABOUT THE AUTHOR. YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SHOW A DIRECT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE AUTHOR AND THE PASSAGE YOU CHOSE.

LENGTH

THE PRESENTATION MUST BE TWENTY MINUTES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT OF 100%

YOU SHOULD CREATE FIVE QUESTIONS THAT THE CLASS WILL ANSWER ON THE TEST WE WILL HAVE AFTER BREAK. POWER-POINTS WILL BE PLACED ON THE WIKI TO STUDY.
