Aquaria

Aquaria KLCC is located on the concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). It is said to be one of the largest aquariums in the Southeast Asia. Home to over 150 species of marine life, its star attractions include scary tiger sharks, lethal sea snakes, blue rays, bright coral sh, seahorses and more. The aquarium is spread over 5574m² on two levels and features a 90-meter-long underwater tunnel. The site is designed to show the animals that live in all aquatic environments from the source of water in the highlands through rivers, rainforests, mangroves and on to the sea and among the coral reefs. It is a well-stocked aquarium to be explored, and after a few hours here you'll have seen over 5,000 freshwater and marine creatures, including massive arapaima, giant groupers, gar sh and more. Some people write it off as a tourist trap, but they’re sorely missing out – beyond the big tanks, with gallons of water, lled with necklaces of kelp, coral and mysterious and sometimes menacing sea creatures, is one of the country’s foremost sightseeing attractions with real depth and complexity.

Masjid Jamek Kuala Lumpur

The Jamek Mosque or Masjid Jamek, also known as Friday Mosque, is recognised as the oldest Islamic place of worship in Kuala Lumpur. This mosque stands where the Klang River and Gombak River meet, and it is also where Kuala Lumpur history began. The Jamek Mosque also offers breathtaking photo opportunities for travellers due to the combination of ancient Moorish, Islam and Mughal architectural styles, verdant surroundings, and distant views of KL’s other iconic landmarks. The Jamek Mosque is open to the public daily (apart from Fridays), visitors can only enter the mosque after prayer times. Women visitors who doesnt wear hab will have to use robes and headscarves and it can be borrowed at the mosque’s entrance, but we highly encourage visitors to dress conservatively (sleeveless shirts, shorts or skimpy clothing are prohibited) and wear shoes you can easily remove before entering the prayer halls.

The gallery is run by ARCH, a major brand producing made-in Malaysia products which capture the essence of heritage landmarks. There are a range of free maps for self-guided city walks published by ARCH. Standing outside the building is an iconic I “heart” KL sign popular with tourists who like to pose next to the sign for a photo. ARCH produces gifts and collectibles on the theme “one city, one heritage.” ARCH established the gallery to promote their pieces as well as the culture and heritage of Malaysia. There is a Kuala Lumpur Skyscraper mural created out of 20 different species of wood.

The gallery is housed within an historic building dating back to 1899 located between the City Library and History Museum on Merdeka Square. Here you can visit the Tourist Information Center housed in the building and enjoy a number of exhibits and attractions. The gallery focuses on past and future of Kuala Lumpur. You can rent a bicycle, visit the gift shop and have a meal in the City Gallery Café.

KLCC Park is a 50-acre tropical landscaped green space in the city center next to the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC shopping center. The park was created to provide greenery for the towers. The park has a unique theme and concept which focuses on water features and public works of art. The park is planted with almost 2,000 indigenous trees including palms; 40 of these trees were rare and mature specimens transplanted from the Selangor Turf Club.

The concept was to highlight the horticultural heritage and biodiversity of Malaysia and provide a calm environment in the middle of the city. On the park grounds is a 10,000sqm manmade lake (Lake Symphony) with a 43m bridge that cuts across. The Lake Symphony consists of two fountains which dance to music as they are lit up. The fountains shoot up 42 meters in the air during the daily “performances” at noon and in the evening at 7pm and every half an hour until 10pm.

The Awana Skyway is one of the most convenient ways to reach the peak of Genting Highlands, where you can nd an array of shopping, dining and entertainment options. Inside the building is a warren of boutiques, handicraft and souvenir stalls with traders selling local merchandise such as authentic Malaysian batik prints and more.
