Website Features The best way to explore the website features discussed in the HE Introduction is to return to the HE opening page and explore. Click on ‘supplement’ and ‘about us’ and investigate each drop down item.
You may wish to spend some time thinking about how you might invite your students to use the HE map feature that is accessible under the ‘supplement’ box. This exciting feature of HE allows students to explore environmental science through Earth visuals that link to issues in each chapter and are further located on a world map in a ‘Goggle Earth’ format. This visual, non-linear way of exploring environmental science communicates the fundamental connection between all of Earth’s environmental challenges. [LS 42: “Because all creatures are connected, each must be cherished with love and respect, for all of us as living creatures are dependent on one another.”] In addition to English, you and your students will have the option of reading Healing Earth in Spanish or French when these translations are completed. Other language translations will be coming in future months. Also, check the bulletin board at the bottom of the opening page to see current Healing Earth news--who is using Healing Earth around the world, event announcements, and dates for live lectures coming up through the Healing Earth website.
